Yorkshire Terrorist water boarding! Of course, I am not blind folding her . . . I have a 4 3/4 month old Yorkie who was always so good. . . and then this week she is DOG OF DESTRUCTION. Chewing molding and window sills--to the point that they are shredded wood :(. Don't even go there with bitter yuck spray, or taping--she just keeps on chewing. Soooo. . . she hates water. I dump about 1/2 cup on her when I catch her in the act. It may have worked. After water dumping #3, she has not repeated the behavior (only 4 hours though!) I never crated her, because she did so well in ex-pen the first few weeks, then I expanded her territory to entire kitchen and she was a dream. Until this week--maybe teething? Or adolescent rebellion? Any advice would be appreciated. -Elizabeth |
Did you try a spray bottle or water gun first? I find those work great for training. |
awww.....She's still so young. It takes a long time for them to grow out of the puppy stages & then we have to continue watching them closely when they have more room to roam. Bella went through this stage & chewed corners of kitchen cabinets. Good news is that she did outgrow it. I would confine her until she learns & it's for her own safety too. Keep her occupied with chew toys during her teething stage. |
