Hey everyone,
Kelsey just got her first period! :p lol My poor baby. As you know i've been waiting for this...and have made some posts previously about this...so finally she has it. She doesnt seem very happy with her diaper on. I also bought onesies (the ones babies wear w/ the snap crotch) to help her keep her diaper on...I have the middle snap button un-buttoned so her tail can fit through. I took some pictures...and yes she's not too thrilled about this, as you can see. :rolleyes:
Also...how long does a heat cycle usually last? And they only bleed a little right? B/c i dont see any blood right now..but when I did it wasn't a lot...although she is an excessive licker. Any help, suggestions would be appreciated.

she looks too cute with her onsie! Heat cycles normally last for 21 days. 7 days of bleeding, 7 days of taking and 7 days to go out.

Ooopsie Kelsey is confused how to tell me she needs to go potty with her diaper on..she just went pee in it. Poor thing. I just bathed her and she's nice and clean now. Hopefully she gets the hang of this.

How old is she now. I am waiting for Polly, she will be 7 months on the 23rd. She is small so am waiting to see how much bigger she get, before I spay her. I have never had a dog come into heat I have always spay them before, so I don't know what to expect.

Poor Kelsey...she looks so gloomy and down. I think us women can relate to feeling the same way during "our time." Give her much LOVE :)

Awww Nicole, Kelsey looks too cute in her onesie, though she looks down, poor baby, it might take a few days for her to get used to it all, shes a big girl now mommy ;) give her big hugs from us!! :) :aimeeyork :aimeeyork

:D She's like "Mom what are you doing to me?", she is getting used to her diaper and the whole going in heat thing...it's all new for her so she needs to adjust to the change. She is doing better about going potty, which is a relief! She seems a lot less energetic, is this normal? Could it really be affecting her and be bad? She is about 10 months now and 8-9 lbs. Im worried about my baby...she looks miserable! To keep her mind off things, I went to Petsmart and got her a small kong thing...and put peanut butter inside and she ate it all up.

The loss of energy is normal for a bitch in heat . It will not affect her or be bad for her in the future .

I forgot to say , don't be too worry if Kelsey have little mood swings from time to time because she is in a high hormonal stage .

It can happen but it is rare . Mine when in heat are more tempermental . When Venus is in heat , she is more of the shy type , on the other hand , Kellie turns to be a little bossy type ( she is the youngest but the leader of the band ).
