Moshi fell in the pool.... My boyfriend took Moshi for the weekend and took her over to a friend's house on Saturday. He just told me that she fell in the pool there. His friend was washing a ball in the pool and Moshi jumped for the ball into the pool and luckily the friend was right there so he picked her out. She's never been in a pool before but she is very toy driven. He told me that she was acting fine afterwards(went right back to playing with the friend's Rotty mix according to him) and he dried her off with a towel but forgot to dry her ears! My boyfriend is in the dog house and I'm not too happy. Call me over-protective but is there anything I should be worried about? She seems to be fine, a little worn out but I think that's from playing all weekend. Her ears aren't smelly as of now. Just worried...... |
Wow, I bet he is in the dog house! You might want to keep an eye out for her ears. I am no expert but I think that she can develop an ear infection if they are not dried out properly...not sure, just keep an eye out and try to dry them the best you can. There have been others on here whose dogs have drowned so please be careful and please make sure that your boyfriend and his guest realize that it doesn't take much for anything to go wrong. I'm glad that Moshi is okay and a disaster was avoided. :) |
OMG!!!! As soon as I saw the title of your thread My heart skipped a few beats!!!!! My daughter is one of those "several" ....that lost her baby when she fell into her pool and drowned!!!! Just a little over a month ago!!! I'm sooooooooooooo happy that Moshi is ok!!!!! Thank goodness!!! |

I am so happy your little one is ok. Several of YT member's have already lost their precious pups this way. Tell you BF to be very careful in the future. |

Yikes! You were lucky Moshi didn't drown! I hear too many stories about these little ones drowning in backyard pools. |

Yes, they can swim, but I think the problem is that since they are so small they have trouble getting out of the pool. Then, they tire out and drowned. My Coco just fell in for the first time last weekend. I FREAKED out. I didn't see it happen. She was at out sliding door all wet!!! I know what could have happened, that's why I freaked. Thankfully she got out but it looks like she fell in by the steps. We have a safety gate around the pool, but it was down for a party we had. The vest sounds like a good idea. I never allow Coco out there if I'm not watching. My family says i'm crazy too. They say I need to treat her like a dog!!! But my brother has a shepard. Much bigger, obviously. |
Lol...dudley too Well, Well...Dudley feel in for his second time Sunday. HE IS NEVER UNATTENDED OUTSIDE...we happened to be poolside for the afternoon. DUDley LOVES walking on the coping (if u don't know, they are the pavers that outlines the EDGE of your pool:eek:) So y-day when it happened, we decided to take advantage of getting him used it it. we broke out the rafts and toys and he LOVED IT!!! Not that he JUMPED in, but he did walk on the raft and allowed us to put him in about 3 inches of water. It was a hoot!!! We can't wait to play again....I'm researching ramps now so we can teach him to use it!!!;) |
Glad to hear Moshi is okay |
My boys swim in my bfs pool all summer long for hours on end (with lifejackets on of course) and they LOVE it and it has never hurt them. I am sure your baby is just fine! :) |
I'm with you on this one! I brought Fiona to my family reunion in August, she was only 6 months then, and we were all by the pool, and low and behold, she thought she was going to just be a diver! i lookd over and she was swimming in the pool! thank god my cousin greg was right by her, and pulled her out! My mom was yelling at me! I told her, I didnt know she was even in there! She was fine, soaked, but fine! And didnt do it again! |
I understand because I'm over protective over my girls, better safe than sorry, we were over some friend house they have a big poll with metal fence around it but my girls can get through it, they also have a huge yard, but I never let the girls out their leash:rolleyes:no way Jose:animal-pa |
