anyone with yorkie paranoia? Does everyone worry about their yorkie getting stolen?(or is my middle name paranoia).I live in Pa and travel during the summer to a large campgound at the delaware beachs during the summer. When I take them for a walk people always want to pet them and play with them.I'm afraid when i'm at the beach someone will break in and take them.I know it is silly but I can't help it.Does anyone els woorry like this? |
I also worry like this even at home.Thats why I will be getting My baby's microchipped soon!! I feel the exact same way.Daisy's Daddy got stolen from Her breeder a couple of weeks ago and They have done everything to try and get Him back to no advail. They are heart broken. Tami |
Me Too I worry all the time. Often when I'm walking my Merlot people will ask how much I payed for him. I hate that question because it makes me think that they are up to know good. Also they will caution me to watch him, because they know dogs like mine that have been stolen. I'm always extremely careful with him! :( |
Yes, I get nervous. I hate leaving him in the car while I run in to a gas station to pay or get a pop or something. I always lock the doors and windows and keep my eyes glued to him while I'm in there. I've also had a privacy fence put in so that pepole cant see us in the yard. |
Yes! I worry a lot about Rowdy being stolen. Our backyard gate is locked, but someone could get in if they tried hard enough. I also worry when we travel because when we stay in motels, we usually don't leave him, but from time to time, we have to leave him for an hour or two for one reason or another. THAT is when I really worry. We always leave a do not distrub sign on the door, but I still worry about someone with room access coming in and taking him. |
I am now that someone picked up Coty. I would let Coty and Tyson into our backyard all the time, but now I stay out there with them, even though we have a full wrought iron fence on the golf course. I used to take my boys everywhere with me and leave them in the car while I ran inside. Just crack the windows or let the sunroof stay a little cracked open. They loved it and I did it for years -- ever since I had them. But since Coty has been gone I am super-paranoid about it. After we got Jagger yesterday, I'm a little nervous about taking him and letting him stay in the car for a minute, even with my other dog Tyson in the car too. I don't trust anyone when it comes to a Yorkie these days and that's a sad commentary! :( |
I really worry about Jewels getting stolen. She is small 4lbs and people always want to hold her. Dogs have gotten stolen in my neighborhood so I do worry. |
I have this worry as well as many others! I am a big worry wart. Mostly I worry about Gus getting hurt. After him being attacked I am even worse. He is never out of sight when going potty outside. I stand over him with a stick in my hand and am on guard all the time. As for being stolen, I worry but not as much. He is always by myside. I know it can happen and it scares the hell out of me. The husband and kids laugh at me because if I don't see him I start yelling out to him. Being that he is so tiny I sometimes don't see him even though he's right there looking up at me yelling for him,,,,,, I do that almost every day. And every day I get the same remark,,,,, Mom look down before you start panicking. |
I freak out all the time b/c i live in an apartment and bentley likes to go out on the patio.. But we are on the first floor..so i'm just scared that someone will walk by and grab him.. |

I worry about Twinkie (or either of my chi's) getting stolen all the time. Mostly when I leave them in the car to run in somewhere. Even though the car is locked I'm always worried that someone will break in and steal them - they could be sold for a lot of money and all. Because of that, I try not to take them out places unless they can come inside with me. |
I worry about this, too, because my childhood companion dog (a mini poodle) was stolen from my family's car. It was in 1969, and the hurt has faded, but I remember how awful it was. The worst part was not knowing what happened to Cici and knowing how dependent and shy she was (she had been abused as a young puppy). I could never think about it without crying until one day several years after it happened I realized that no matter what she had passed away by then. Then I had peace because I knew that there was no way she could be unhappy any more. She was the sweetest dog I've ever met. I hope Susan will be her peer. |
I also worry about scrappy getting stolen ,when i was very young we had a collie stolen out of our yard ,we happen to run across her again in someones yard so my uncle stole her back .i also worry about scrappy getting hurt my husband calls me a worry wart .thats ok love my babys. :) |
yorkie napping Yes I am paranoid with good reason. Twice I have caught people attempting to take my Yorkie. We treat Mya the same as you would a baby in that we do not walk away from her if she is in a shopping cart or take our eyes off her if she is out side. I do not put her travel bag down with out having between my feet, right beside me with one hand on it. Yorkies are very expensive here in Ontario and considered a "luxtury item" Some would steal her just for the cash. I even worry about some breaking in to the house and taking her. I think it is sweet how Mya, when hearing a new noise at home that she is unsure about sits between our larger dog's front feet her ears touching his chest. She feels safe there. :) |
I'm very worried about it. I hope it never happens to any of us. When I was a teenager we had a Chesapeake Bay Retriever and she was stolen. There are some mean people out there. |
