Picked her out! So.. I went to pick my puppy today! There are three adorable little girls. There were two that I really wanted. One had a very cute little face but she didn't take to us quite as much. The other was just so playful and sweet. I picked the playful one... she was the one who hung around us the most. And she would come when we called her and she'd curl up in my lap. SO cute. And she makes little grunting noises everytime you pick her up, not sure why lol, she just does it a couple times and then gets comfy. I don't know how I am going to wait 4 more weeks! |
ohhhh how will you sleep at night? I would be SO excited:) |

Congratulations on your new "baby' girl. Bet you just can't wait to get her home.:) Pictures?? |
OH I remember the wait it was aweful, congrats on your new puppy , whats her name?? |
Congrats on your new yorkie baby. The wait seems long, but it will be here before you know it. Stay busy by preparing yourself & picking up a few things for her for when she comes home. Or, go buy a new camera.......for all those pictures you will be taking!:D |
Congrats on your new baby!!!!! |
Sooo Happy So happy for you......time will fly, and very very soon your new baby will be home.......congrats!!!:) |
How exciting for you!! Will you be able to visit her while you are waiting?? That would be great! Can't wait to see pics! |
C:)NGRATULATI:)NS!!!! I'd love to see her too! How old is she now? The grunting noises that she's making when you pick her up may just be that she has a sensitive tummy or she could have been full from just eating or it could be worms. Has she been wormed? Or to the vet that you know of? I'm so happy for you all. it sounds like you picked out the perfect puppy or should I say that she picked out her perfect family :D Congrats again!!! |
Congratulations on finding the perfect pet for your family. Getting a new puppy is exciting. Waiting four weeks to get your puppy might feel like an eternity, but you could spend that time and energy getting things for the puppy. I cannot wait to see the pictures of your new puppy. :) |
Yeaaaaaaah!!!! how exciting....I think you did the right thing, letting the pup pick you! I went to the breeder, expecting to get a boy, but my Apple kept running up to me w/a toy, and the others didn't do that...I really think an outgoing playful pup is the best choice...I'm glad the pup's breeder is not letting you take one that is too young...Mine was almost 12 weeks old (11 1/2), and we did great...Congratulations, and it will be fun to see the first pix.... That is so exciting!!! |
You didn't take a quick picture for us? Congratulations, it will be hard to wait hey? So exciting! |
Congrats!! I know how you feel!!! I found my puppy when she was only two weeks old so I had six weeks of wait!!!! Now I've got less than two weeks. I still feel like I can't make it through! It seems like forever. |
I have pictures I just have'nt uploaded them yet! My boyfriend is at work and they're all on his camera. So i will get them up when I can! I am having second thoughts tho, and it isn't too late to change my mind. I may want the littler girl that wasn't quite so outgoing. In your experiences, have the most outgoing ones been more of a handful? And the grunting... maybe the one I picked isn't healthy. I hate to second guess myself but.. I am just unsure now.. |
Sweetie, don't second guess yourself. Puppy personalities / activity levels change so much. When I picked out my GP he was the only white one out of a litter of 12. I had to have the all white one, but he ignored us and went away when we'd approach him. A few hours with us and he turned into the biggest love bug ever. He's 2 now and still just as friendly and carefree as you'd want. When he meets new people he lays his face on their legs and hugs them. There are so many distractions for such young puppies it's understandable why they may not have had the personality that you wanted. I think either one will learn from your interactions and guidance on what you want them to do and become. |
I agree with the above post, don't second guess yourself. Puppies grunt - maybe she had a full tummy...? If you fell in love with the out going one and she followed you around more than the shy one - maybe she(the out going one) picked you!!!??!! Go with your heart - go visit the puppies again and listening to what your heart is telling you. Puppies grow and once you get one home for a few weeks their personalities change. Good luck with which ever baby you decide, regardless you will love her and she will love you! (heck, if you can afford it bring them both home!!!):D LOL!!! |
Oh congrats!! I hope the four weeks fly by for you!! |
Congratulations on your new baby girl! I would go with your first instinct. Her personality sounds perfect and she seems to have taken a liking to you. Some of the most outgoing puppies become the most mellow adults and vice versa. There's no guarantees! Just enjoy your new baby. :) |
congrats on the new addition to ure family.4 weeks isnt that long.it will give you the time to puppy proof ure home, looking forward to seeing all the pics of ure littlle 1.:aimeeyork:aimeeyork |
I'm sure the little girl you picked first is the one for you. I also got the first pick of 3 little girls. They were 6 weeks old and all 3 were the cutest little things. They were 3 different sizes small, medium and large. The medium size one picked me out. She always wanted my attention and whenever I picked up one of the others she wiggled right in there. It was as if she was saying pick me, pick me. Four weeks later I went to pick up my little girl. The breeder said that she was keeping one and she really didn't care which one as they were all beautiful and another person was taking the remaining puppy but she hadn't come to see her yet, she was coming later on that day so if I changed my mind I could take one of the other girls. Again Piper was the one that really showed the most interest in me. Besides the breeder sent weekly pictures and Piper was mine in my heart from the day one. Don't second guess yourself. |

All puppies make funny noises. I think it's cute. Goodness, my Suzi is a little over a year and she burps ... LOL. Grunting sounds, those won't last forever. Perhaps the puppy's way of telling you she is comfortable with you, and happy. I would not worry about it. Take her to the vet first thing after you b ring her home. ASk the breeder all types of questions, and if the puppy comes with a health guarentee. I can't wait to see pictures of her. Have you thought of names yet? Congradulations :D |
Well I couldnt shake the feeling that I had made the wrong decision. I kept remembering her face. She wasn't as playful but she was very sweet and liked to cuddle up by my neck when I held her. I called and the breeder was fine with my change of mind. She said she kind of knew it was bound to happen- she could just tell. So either way, I would be happy. But, I feel happier now and I feel like I made the right decision :) I hope no one thinks I am crazy! I just had to follow my heart! |
