Are females usually smaller than males This is what i read that someone wrote |
There is no rule of thumb for males or females being smaller than the other. It all depends on genetics! |
Sometimes. ;) My female, Ramsey, weighs 12 pounds...my male weighs 8. Frazier's sister outweighs him by a pound and 1/2. |
Not that I know of, breeders tend to keep, larger females around 5-7 pounds for breeding purposes, whereas they like to use smaller males as the daddy. :D So from some breeders it might be easier to get a tiny girl than a tiny boy because the boy might make a good breeding dog. On the other hand, one male can produce many more litters than one female, so breeder's don't really need to keep too many males. |
I am not inclined to agree. Especially when breeding a Yorkie. Which I am never going to do. However, what a good breeder knows is to breed a smaller male yorkie to a larger female yorkie . I agree that is has to do with genetics! yorkies come in all different sizes, and are pure bred... We have many YT owners who have beautiful teapots, and some that are tinines that are just as healthy as the rest! :aimeeyork |

I purposely picked a small male and a larger female so I could breed them. So, if someone looked at mine, they might think males are usually smaller. |
