What was the most outrageous place you smuggled your furkid? :aimeeyork I know we have talked a lot about "smuggling" our furbabies into nono places, but I wonder who would win the prize for the most OUTRAGEOUS place. I have taken mine into Walmart (no big deal) and once a kitten to the movies, but what about you guys? How gutsy are you when it comes to your furkids? :aimeeyork |
hahahaha you took a kitten to the movies? how cute is that? Let's see....I drove cross country with my monkeys so I took them everywhere! I tried to sneak them into the Harley shop in Sturgis but a big burly man caught me and totally loved them up so that doesn't count (he even gave them Harley hats). When Simon was a baby I snuck him into the classes I taught at University ;) I also snuck both of them into Mt. Rushmore, that should count ;) hehe this thread is gonna be fun! |
Lol I haven't had too much time to take her anywhere really but Walmart, Meijers, Target, K-mart (got kicked out though), an Antique store hehe they saw her and said oh she is so cute I got lucky. Nothing like Simonandhalie though! Todays adventure is going to be JoAnn's Fabric store b/c I heard they have Halloween costumes for her there! |
They do have costumes at JoAnns! I saw them last weekend...unfortunatley all the ones here were big ones... |
I take my babies to Joanns ..... what a big hit they are!!!! At first I hid Chattie in her Chattie bag, but I got brave and took her out and carried her proudly for the world to see! |
Gidget hasnt been out that much as far as stores go.....she does come in to the antique shops in town with me and in the coffee shops and the hot wheels store (it is when we are on a walk and I just scoop her up...strangly enough she actually just stays nicely in my arms :P) and then she has gone to many car shows with us and went into a greasy spoon with us before one...I just think the people never noticed...... |
Nothing to gutsy for me. I took him into Wal-Mart when I first got him and carried him around for everyone to see. I thought I was gonna get thrown out but all the Wal-Mart associates just wanted to pet him! I've taken him into the post office also. Just got some strange looks there! :animal36 |
I HAVE ALWAYS TAKEN MISTY TO HOME DEPOT. I TRYED TARGET BUT THEY THREW US OUT  |
Shhhhhhhhh,I sneak Daisy into resturant's in Her purse of course.I just know I will get caught one day ! LOL :D |
Drive in movies I miss the drive in Movies so much in Sacramento i would load up the durrango and go watch movies with all the fur kids and for me thats a lot my little cousin would bring hers and it was a riot first it was just us but the next weekned there were more and more haha like a night time doggie park also walmart always kicks me out :D |
Good Little Catholics Both Maggie Anne and Kenzie Nicole have been to mass (at different times and churches, however). For both it was when they were very wee...and both of them were ill, and I didn't want to leave them home alone. |
Macy has been to a few demo derby's, the State Fair both of which have big signs that say DOGS NOT ALLOWED. We were are a floral shop and she stuck her head out of her purse and almost gave a lady a heart attack she told I had a rat with a bow in her hair. (some people) We haven't went to many other places.... |
Before 9/11 Gracie (RIP my beautiful!) used to sneak on airplanes a lot! She also went to the grocery store, restaurants, etc. Miss Lexy hasn't learned to be quiet enough to be sneaked in anywhere! |
we have not been to many places. Walmart, Joannes, the kids school, winco (the local grocery store) etc. etc. However my Brother has taken his furbaby places like the space needle and the mueseums. I might get a few more on my list once we are in Vegas though. hehehehehe |
I used to sneak my first baby everywhere. I started out by taking her to a Raider game when she was a puppy. We always went to the movies... the Ice Capades once, church, she snuck on airplanes more than once (pre 9-11), restaurants, and several hotels. I always took her to work with me, which included a bunch of high-profile law offices in Los Angeles, then to various stages, studios, theatres and studio trucks. Probably the strangest place I snuck her into was Richard Simmons house. I finally told him a couple of years later. Her name was Sneaker, which was very appropriate for her. My Toby now, is a whole different story. He doesn't know the definition of the word "sneak." He wants to let everyone know that he's "in the house." As soon as he sees someone, he starts his strut. I guess I've actually snuck him into a couple of hotels, but am always wondering when he's going to spill the beans! |
P.F. Chang's...I used to sneak Jeremiah into there...But I stopped because everyone wanted Jane to come too. I miss those days. :p |
The second week of his hospitalization , my brother asked me to see Gioia , so I brought the little one to the hospital . He was in a private room . |
My kids had been at their dad's house for the summer when Deb came to live with me. I was picking them up in Baltimore and wanted them to meet their new little yorkie right away. We spent a few days in Baltimore and she stayed in the hotel. We kept coming back to check on her. The last day we were there, we checked out of the hotel in the morning and decided to go to the AQUARIUM before we left Baltimore. I put her in her new shoulder bag and walked right up to the door. I was nervous when I saw a sign that said ALL BAGS SUBJECT TO SEARCH!! Thankfully they didnt search :) She did great and nobody even knew she was visiting all the fish and sharks :) |
I don’t sneak Bridget into too many places – she always has to announce her presence and give me away. I’m lucky I live in a fairly dog-friendly town and have been able to take her a lot of places, usually in either her open or zip up carrier. Walgreens, Blockbuster, Home Depot, Bank… and believe it or not, even a quick dash into the library. She stayed in her carrier with her kong toy and was very quiet. We recently took a road-trip to Utah together and she was very well received by various places along Route 80! :) |
I don't "sneak" very often becuase I can usually have them anywhere but once I had five and I snuck them into a hotel!!! |
I haven't tried to sneak Susan anywhere, but I am now better able to understand a student I once had. She had a long haired chihauhau (sp?) named Jenny. She took Jenny EVERYWHERE, including Shonie's restaurant and my office. I kept telling her NOT to bring Jenny to my office because first, it was against the rules and second, Jenny hated me and would spend the whole time they were there growling at me. My student was deaf and didn't realize that her precious baby in her cute carrier sounded like she wanted to have my fingers for lunch. But now I understand how my student felt about wanting to have her little dog with her all the time. |
i snuck one of my babies about 5 yrs ago in a soft "purse style" carrier into brenner children's hospital to visit my husband's nephew after he had a terrible seizure that left him disabled due to lack of oxygen to his little brain. the nurse's never saw my baby. i couldn't believe i did it, but i thought it would be good therapy for him to pet a yorkie. |

What a fun thread this has been. There has been a whole lot of Yorkie Sneaking going on and from what I have read a lot of the sneaking was for very good deeds. What better way to help heal than to bring a smile to someone desperately sick!!!! thanks guys, I have really loved reading the responses, and hummmmmm maybe I will be inspired to take my furkids even more places ps. we just got home from a horse sale and once again Peppy was large and in charge and a hit! |
I will take them pretty much anywhere. Heh heh. The mall, walmart, grocery stores, the movies. I've gone in to this one pub a few times after my bf's soccer games, and occasionally to restaurants if I'm out and have one of my little ones already with me - I mean, I can't starve myself just because I have a dog with me! :p I never go anywhere without a dog carrier (purse) though. |
I've taken Gus to church, and to the doctor office. These took some planning. But as always Gus was a good boy and nobody knew he was even there. |
I just saw this thread because Megan hogs the computer! We can't sneak Tucker anywhere becaue he is now 6 and a half pounds and there is no where to hide him! But, I got a service dog patch for him since I have MS. (Not that he's doing well with service training! He barks at the walker and chews everything I drop). Anyway, I love to walk in to stores where the person is soooo snotty and says "You can't bring that dog in here". I flash his service dog patch and say "He's my service dog". Usually they look at him and snort and say "THAT is a service dog?" But they can't stop me so he proudly walks in! |
I have sneaked Mac into church and my sons school. Nothing really daring. Mellie is to vocal to sneak into anywhere. |
