Sadie Update
 

A few days ago I posted that my three year old Yorkie girl has urinated in the house once, on two different days.

She has never, ever done this.

Took her to the vet and he gave her some medication for a urinary tract infection, and said if she is still wetting Monday to bring her back for a blood workup. So far, so good.

Now, here is my dilemma: I have a new boyfriend, and during the three day weekend we went out three nights in a row. It is late when he leaves, and I am wondering if she is jealous over the two of us.

Does anyone think this may be the problem, as my vet
questionned me about it.

If so, have any of you ever had a jealousy problem, and how did you correct it.

I love this little girl so much that I try never to leave her alone, and my parents live across the street and kept her all three nights for about seven hours each night.

She loves them as well, so this is confusing.

Any thoughts?

She very well could be jealous and doing this as a way to get more attention from you. It would not surprise me at all. Just be patient and understanding with her and show her all kinds of love as I'm sure you already do all of these things. By the way love the name Sadie. I have a Chocolate Lab named Sadie or, it could just be a UTI or a combination of the two. Good Luck

Years ago - 29 to be exact :eek: - I had a poodle. When my daughter was born, my poodle urniated on the carpet in front of her bedroom door for 3 nights in a row right after we came home from the hospital. Finally, he quit - I guess he decided she wasn't going anywhere........

I absolutely agree, I always have a little accident whenever my grandchildren come over. It took a few times for me to get it. If you have a kennel, when I go out for over 3 hours, late at night, I put mine in theirs. Otherwise I let them have the den and block off the rest of the house.

I'm glad Sadie is feeling better and congrats on your new boyfriend. I bet she is jealous, I coule absolutely see Hallie doing this to me if I was in that situation. I hope everything works out, has he spent a lot of time with her? Maybe you could have a date night "in" and Sadie could have a chance to get to know him. just an idea......

So far, so good. Fingers crossed, eyes too. LOL

In answer to some of your questions, I confine her to the laundry room if I am gone more than an hour, and only if my parents are not home to care for her.

Last night when I came back from my date, I had Frank
come over to my parents' house with me, and he picked her up and greeted her. Her tail was a waggin, and it was so cute.

I am pretty sure this is the case, plus I got to thinking that
I moved in June, and have been working hard on my house as I am trying to get all the outside painting done before fall comes. That part is done, so I am sure she missed all the hugs and being picked up like I always do so much when my days are pretty ordinary.

Frank is coming over early today, and he will give her some attention before we take her to my parents.
