traveling with your yorkie Hi, I am new to the forum and I'm going to post a few questions separatly that have come up. I am on a long weekend trip to a car show and cruise. I couldn't leave my little girl Krystal home. Scratch that, I wouldn't leave her home. She traveled in the car O.K. (as a parot on my shoulder, LOL) but when I put her in her bag to carry her around she got sick. She has gotten sick a couple of time when in her bag. It's a large bag with more than enough room for her. What do you think her reaction was to? Traveling, the bag, being a little scared? I didn't feed her much just to give her stomach a break for the drive. I just want a little feed back on this one. Thanks so much, this is a great place. |
HI and WELCOME to YT!!!! I love the "parrot" comment....that's exactly how Tulip traveled with us for quite awhile...now thankfully she's settled down and will snooze when we're in the car... Uhm not sure about your car sick baby.....maybe someone else will have some good advice for you...but I wanted to welcome you to yt!! Oh one question...can she see out of the Bag that you carry her in...does it have a place she can put her head out?? Maybe if she's not getting any air...that is adding to her motion sickness?? Just a thought... |
I have a similar problem with Benny. He is about 7 months old and he still gets sick in his bag. He does fine in the car and stuff when he's out being held and we got him a carseat which has really seemed to help but he cannot be carried in his bag without getting sick.. Maybe its a motion sickness thing in these little guys? Anyway not much help but I am interested in hearing what anyone else has to say. Good luck! |
maybe she get's paniacy in small area's like anxiety some people get in elevators its best to keep her out the bag than...i would love to travel with my yorkie's but to many people steal them now a days right off ur hands its sad and crazy and i would be a crazy person dare they touch my two pooch's lol see if the vet has like travel medicine for dogs i know they have it for humans who cant stay in cars or buses or trains plains to long they get nautious and sick |
Welcome to YT. I'm sure you will get some great answers. Murfee does not like his carriers at all so I have one of those backpack/frontpack type carriers. It fits like a backpack only in the front. He likes that much better because he can see out, he is next to me and I can rest my hands on him if necessary. Good luck. |
Maybe it is the swinging/swaying of the bag? |
Cash my 4 year old yorkie has taken long trips with me to cars shows and has been to many cruises but i dont put him in a bag, he walks most of the time or I carry him. Kacy |
