Found new homes for puppies My babies are now 5 weeks old and i have 4 very anxious familes waiting for them to "come home". I told the new owners 8 weeks and they can go but not until they have there shots and and completely weaned off momma. Am i doing things right? I just want to make sure. Also i wrote up a contract that states that the puppies must be neutered / spayed. Thanks |
Most breeders keep their puppies until they are at least 10 weeks old and some longer if they are tiny. I didn't even advertise mine until they were 10 weeks and didn't let them go until they were 12 or more. I had my boys neutered before going to their new homes too...except for one and I trust the girl he went to. Are you planning to hold registration papers until proof of spay/neuter is given? |
Alot of people let puppies go by 8 weeks...however many feel they should stay with their mom until they are 10-12 weeks... You will get alot of different responses to this question.. Just talk to your Vet and see what he says....and make sure the puppies are eating well on their own before you let them go...and are large enough too! Good luck!! |
I like to keep my puppies until 10 weeks of age. I personally think 8 weeks is to young |
Thanks Thanks everyone for the info, i am definitly keeping them till 12 weeks and yes i am keeping the registration. I never really advertised them , a friend of mine had a picture on her pc and a few of her co -workers saw , and were interested. :)If I could i would keep them all. |

I'm so happy you decided to keep them longer!!!!! And that gives YOU more time with them before they go to their forever homes!!!:D |

I had to wait until apple turned at least 11 weeks well actually it was suppose to be 12 but, because of spring recess to gave me a break and allowed me to have her at 11 weeks. I have the option of spaying her which I have not yet decided. She came micro chipped. |
