Do you mean dogs like Thor? :) Some are a mix, but some pure yorkies turn out that way too. It's just an uncommon coloring. I saw a pure bred yorkie the other day that was completely tan, no black at all. If you do a search on "platinum" on YT (search box is at the bottom of the page), some threads on "platinum" yorkies should pop up. I remember in particular one picture of a little platinum breeding female. She was just gorgeous. |
Thor is secretly one of my favorite yorkies on the board ;) i think he is absolutely beautiful!!!! My puppy's dad was light colored (not as light as thor though) and mom was darker... i'm hoping he follows in dads footsteps... |

As with any breed, there will always be more non-standard dogs than there are perfect representations of the breed. One of my yorkies is so light on his saddle that he looks almost white in some places (he looks darker in his pictures) and another yorkie that is practically black on his saddle. I'm 100% sure that my dark one (Chip) is a purebred, but I do sometimes question whether my gigantor, silver one (Smokey) is really purebred. |

To the OP, now I understand what yu are referring to: I have a female yorkie. She is turning out to be silver blue in color. Her hair is growing out to be beautiful. What threw me off was the "white" color in your post. I am in agreement that Thor is a very good looking yorkie ;) |

Would have to agree-Thor is adorable! And I do like the lighter color yorkies too. They are very pretty. Yes-I do know this is not standard-but still pretty. :) |
