Coat color
 
what coat color does your yorkie have?
Leo is 18months and he has blue/silver on his head,gray to dark black from neck down,legs and tummy and face is tan.
when is he gonna be all tan?

the breeder told me when i got him he will be all golden when he is 2

hope he doesnt end up a silkie :(

:aimeeyork poppy is 2 now , she has a very dark body , silver head , and blonde legs , some people say she is an unusual colour , shes a cutie for sure :D xx

Jasmine is 16 weeks front legs, ears are golden on front, back black , her face is changing with a lot more gold than before. She is beautiful, of course, I would think so,

Jackson is 6 months old and his face is turning very gold... He's white on the top of his head but it's slowly changing into gold. And his body WAS all black but it's turning into a greyish/silverish color with a bit of black mixed in. His legs are all gold too.

Oscar is 20 months and his head is blonde with tan/light brown ears and legs, his body is silver/gray and the very tip of his tail his black. Sometimes I think he is looking lighter and lighter, but I am not sure. Are they supposed to turn all golden?

All golden? The yorkie breed standard is blue and tan.... all golden is a breed fault and those who breed for that color are not breeding within standard.

Also, if he's not a silkie (sp?) now, he's not going to change breeds.

Mine is Blue and Tan/gold. He was black and gold as a pup, then got the silvery head, which turned a pretty tan. But the body does not turn to tan or gold -- it should stay a darker color. Some turn real silvery grey. That is really not what you want. You want the dark steel blue. Sort of a gun metal blue color. There are some good pictures here: pictures showing yorkies of all ages. There are a few with the lighter grey/silver, but most show that pretty yorkie blue!
