Indoor potty turf..good or bad? Just wondering if anyone has had success w/the indoor potty turf products/training? Pros and Cons will be appreciated... Thanks, Maggie & Apple:aimeeyork |
I am in NY and I got this last year. I like it. I put pee pads underneath. The main reason that I like it is that their paws don't get wet (or as wet) and they don't track pee on the floors. I can't use this in the winter though, bc the grass needs to be cleaned and air dried, which I do outside. So I have to wait for the weather to be agreeable for that ;) |
This looks perfect, now I would like to find something like this in Canada. I think it would be much easier to train our furbabies on the turf. |
I was considering getting one of those grass indoor potty things just to have him trained to use it for future.. if I ever do have to leave him for long hours which I haven't yet or even long car rides, put him in the back with one of those... but I dunno. I just don't want to confuse him. But maybe in the future. I'd feel safer knowing it was grass-like so that he hopefully would still associate potty w/ outside. |

I bought one and I think it was the worst because my yorkie tore it up. He really put a killn on the grass part so I just threw it out. He didn't like it at all.:thumbdown |
I made one for my guys. I used a crate tray, 2x4 and bought some high grade grass. It's poly and really mimics real grass, but holds no odor and does not absorb liquids. I use washable pee pads underneath. I wash it even in winter and just put it back while damp. The boys use it when we aren't home. Remy even poops on it. Milo not so much.:rolleyes: EDIT: I made my own because it's twice as big and cost me less than half. |

I bought one and then I made one too :p The grass that came with the one I bought is much better than the grass I bought for my home made one though... Where did you buy your grass :confused: |

I have one and absolutely love it. Lola would shred pads in a heartbeat. I use pads under the turf and we've had no problems. She took right to it. It's much nicer to see a small piece of turf vs. a yellow pee pee pad :thumbup: |
