My little 2 lb. Tia doing good. She did very well for her surgery. She was pg, but the vet couldn't tell how many there were. She also got 2 baby teeth pulled. She slept well last night. I'm just having problem getting her to eat & drink. She did eat some poached egg, but I don't want her dependent on that, and she'll lick water off my fingers. She has peed a couple times, but no poop yet. Anyone got any advice for me? She's such a little sweetheart! The vet tech told me yesterday they carried her around in her little bag on their shoulders all day.:D |
So glad to hear she's doing well. I've been thinking about her, thank you for the update. I think the pooping thing takes a little while to get back on track. Their system is totally clean from the fast before surgery and if she's not eating much, it'll take a little time for things to get moving, so to speak. :rolleyes: The not drinking would worry me a little more. Could you try putting a little Kayro syrup in her water or give her ice cubes to lick? There is a nurse at Dr D's that is always carrying around a baby in one of those snuggle things. When Gracie Ruth had her spaying, this nurse carried her around the whole next day until I could get there to pick her up. :) Yet another reason I love my vet...all the people are so caring there. |
I'm so glad she's doing well! Give her lots of hugs and kisses from her new YT family!!! Thank you for giving us the update. :) |
That's great, so happy for you and little Tia! BTW, I also love her name.:) |
I'm so glad she's doing well:) You could try a bit of low-sodium chicken broth in her water to encourage her to drink. Maybe it hurts her to bend down to the water bowl, so perhaps sitting it on top of a phone book or two to raise it might help;) What a lucky baby girl to have ended up in such a loving home:love: She'll have a wonderful life now, thanks to you:D! |
I'm sooo glad she's doing well:)You are a great mommy:D |
Was worried about this little one. Thanks so much for the update! So happy to know she is doing well and, with her mommy's love, I'm sure she'll be all healed and back to her normal self in no time. (((HUGS))) to you both! |
So good to hear this. I am so glad that she found you. :) |
I'm so glad she's doing well...WhenI read about her "situation", I became concerned about her, due to her size...It's nice to hear good news, and it's an encouragement to us who also have small babies (but not as small as yours!) that need to be spayed, in the future...All the best to you and your baby.... Love, Maggie & Apple:aimeeyork xoxoxox |
Oh wonderful!!! So happy for this little girl. If she's not pooping, give her extra water (sweeten her water w/ karo or honey or even some sugar) - and you could also give canned pumpkin, some broth, canned/mashed potatoes (instead of protein, too much of which could exacerbate constipation). :) |
:thumbup::thumbup:You are the Best..... |
I am so happy to for you . I give you so much credit for having the courage to do the right thing. I think your vet is wonderful for working with you and getting her in asap. Thanks for the wonderful job you did with keeping us updated on her. |
I am so glad she is pulling through!! My thoughts and prayers are with you and Tia:) |
Thank you all for your kind words. Tia has been a work with me all week, don't know how long I can stretch that out, but she's doing great. I finally got her to eat. I mixed a tiny bit of Ceasars with crushed Chicken Soup. She's still not wanting to drink, but thanks for the suggestion on raising the bowl, I'll try that. I did give her a couple of syringes of water. This little one is definitely a keeper!:D |
We had trouble getting Laddy to drink after his last shot the vet had us get a syringe and fill with water u just have to hold their little head and put it in the corner of their mouth they will drink it that way.OOps sorry just read where u posted you had done that lol. Anyway so glad she is doing well and you were able to give her a good forever home |
