Derrr what are "pennys in a can" and what do they do?? Hey everyone! Lately I have been reading about "pennies in a can" used for training but no one has said exactly what they do , or what they are for??? Help?? LoL:confused: |
Barking!!! Or anything you don't want them to do, really. You simply get some kind of a can (empty soda can, coffee can, etc) and fill it with some pennies or coins. Whenever they bark, SHAKE it and say "Quiet!" or whatever you want to say... they usually do NOT like the loud noise of the coins shaking and it will distract them from whatever they are barking at and get them to stop. |
They are used to stop your pets bad behaviour. Say he is barking uncontrollably...you pick up the can, shake it, the noise gets his attention, while saying firmly "no bark". This can be used to stop any unwanted behaviour...it simply makes them stop whatever they are doing wrong...and look to you for guidance. After awhile, supposedly...all you will have to do is pick up the can...then later as they learn "no"...all you have to do is say "no" and they stop. |
WoWzErS! Haha thanks for enlightening me. I feel like an idiot now for not putting 2 and 2 together lol |
