living my baby alone i went back to work yesterday and i felt so bad leaving my furbaby alone for 8 hours. he was crying when i walk out the door i wanted to turn back and stay with him.i guess i stood home to long for about a month. and now i have to reasure him that staying alone is not so bad.i felt so guilty all day long.all i did at work is think about my baby.:) |
I think you will probably get comments about leaving your dog for 8 hours, but some of us have to work, and sometimes there is no other option. I am out of the house 3 days per week, and my aunt used to take Millie to her house, and I picked her up after work. Before she did that, my mum called in and spent lunchtime with Millie. Have you any options like that that would break the day up a bit? Or perhaps another dog? I feel guilty about doing it too, and if I was out of the house five days a week, I dont think I would have a dog. People suggest putting tvs or radios on when you are away. |
i work five days three days on weekday's and two on weekends but on the weekends my husband stay's with him.i spoke to friend and she said she will check on him those three day's i work during the week. |

Perhaps when you are at home you could close him in another room for short periods, and sort of train him to being alone. Millie used to hate being left in the house, and would hide in the corner shivering when we left. But once we got her house trained, and she had free run of the house, she would sit on the chair at the window looking out and was fine. |
Give him a treat when you leave. That way he will be busy with that and won't cry. I did that with my pom and now with Baxter. It works wonders. Don't feel bad about having to leave him. Lots of us have to work. |
