I know this will sound stupid, but... Although Molly hasn't gone into heat yet, I know that she could from this point on. Anyways, when she does go into heat and you put diaper panties on her, do you use panty liners, maxi pads or urinary incontinence pads? Also, what about when they have to pee and/or poop? How is that handled? I've never owned a female dog nor did my family, so I don't know. Please excuse my ignorance. Thanks.:confused::confused: |
They produce puppy panty liners, but I've always just used one of my own maxipads. It's much less expensive, because I already have them, and they have a sticky side to stick to the panties. I just cut a pad in strips (sideways so they are attached on the two sides to keep them in one piece) and I stick those in Silvia's panties. They work very well for me. Most of the time, we use the panties for her heat, but sometimes when we go to someone's house, I will put them on her for fear of her having an accident in their home. She has peed in the panties before and the pad absorbed it all. And I believe she only pooped once with the panties on and most of it stayed in them, but some did come out the little tail hole. If you use them for potty purposes, I would just stick your finger in there every so often, like a baby's diaper, to check. |
Thanks for your help.:animal36 |
Depending on the size of your dog you can get the panty liners at the store. I think most of the diapers are made so that the poo has room to get out. You just have to make sure she gets potty breaks outside. |
