harness question what do you do when you take your pup outside in the winter and you want them to wear coats or shirts or something warm ? how do put a harness and dress them..? does the harness go over the clothes or what? |
I put it over the clothes or coat. |
i guess you have to have a big enough harness right?... the ones i have just fit her perfectly.. |
I put it over the coats . |
I loosen the straps and put it over their coats too! |
OK. I'll be the oddball again. :D I always put Muffin's harness under her coats and pulled the leash out at her neckline. |
i guess i can do that toooo.. isnt it uncomfortable for them that way... the harness goes to the middle of her back i think.. |
I am thinking about getting Porscha a bigger size harness just for the winter so I can put it over her clothes |
You can get lots of coats and stuff with leash holes or harness attachments. |
I cut a a small slit in her coat to pull the leash through |

Any thoughts? |
Does anyone know where you can find the coats or shirts that have the harness on it already? |
Joy a member on here makes vests that she will turn into a harness. You just have to pm her and tell her to make it a harness heres her websitehttp://www.******************.com/ |

Super cheap and super easy to do yourself. Just get a small D ring from a craft store or a hardware store. fold over a small strip of material or even a piece of elastic and sew to garmet. Whoops I forgot... you first slide it through the D ring then sew it to garment. VERY easy to do if you can thread a needle and sew a few regular stitches. Like 25 cents to do. Hardware stores you can usually buy 1 D ring or a PACKAGE OF THEM. A D ring is just that a little ring in the shape of a D. :p This isn't really good for sweaters but works great for coats and vests and stuff. Sweaters you can just do a button hole to slide the leash through. If you can't do a button hole the chances are SOMEBODY you know has a machine and can do it for you easy. HEY WAIT , I was thinking... You could probably even do a grommett(spelling) type thing for sweaters. You can buy a little machine in places like AC Moore or Micheals that puches down and inserts grommets. Then you could slide the leash through and no unraveling. Maybe this would work and you can get the home machines pretty cheap to use over and over. AC Moore offers coupons EVERY Week for 40% off a single purchase . Micheal's will accept these coupons :animal36 |
