Any suggestions on how to prevent this action? | How old is he, and how do you discipline him? Remember, you can make a dog more aggressive by certain forms of discipline, never use your hands to punish your dog. You also need to teach your dog that you and all humans are the boss. Teach your dog to sit before placing his food bowl down. He should sit, and stay, before you give the release command and allow him to eat his food. If he's just a young puppy, teaching to sit is enough at first, but try working with the stay command, as he gets older, this is fairly easy to teach, you just keep picking up the bowl, until they stay. Also, if he's really young, they do a lot of playful biting, but the growling concerns me, make sure you don't over stimulate him and play too roughly, as this also creates aggression. |
