Sad news/day Well, my husband and I have decided to give (well, trade) our yorkie Bruno to a couple who are friends of ours. :( Before you jump to conclusions, the trade sounds worse than it seems. The reason we've decided to do this is because we don't have time to properly train Bruno and our house is starting to smell like a doggie toilet. It's just not sanitary and we have a son who is just over 1 year old and is still crawling. I love Bruno to pieces but it's not fair to him that we just don't have enough time to spend with him. Our friend's wife doesn't work so she'll have 24/7 to properly train and play with Bruno, and they're friends of ours so we'll be able to see him whenever we want. We also have a pug but he's content just sleeping his day away. Bruno will be going to a good home. The couple have wanted a yorkie but didn't know where to look or start looking for one. Also, the price range was pretty outragous in my area (anywhere between $700-$1800) and it just wasn't the right time for them financially. That's where the trade comes in (which I won't go into detail about). Anyway, I would just like your support and for you all to know that I do plan on getting another yorkie, just not till it's a better time for us! Thanks for listening! Treena & Bruno :( |
AT least you realized that he was just too much to handle at this time in your life. They are so much like little children that I can see where it would be hard with a little one. So just be glad you found a good home for him. Hope it workds out okay for them. |
There is not a thing wrong with the choices you made towards Bruno. You and your family love him very much and it shows by giving him to a family you know, and that will give Bruno the time and love he needs. There are so many Yorkies out there who did not have the same options that Bruno did and end up in the pound, or elsewhere. Not just Yorkies of course but many dogs. Bruno is a lucky dog! And again, no need for you to feel bad at all. |
Things like that happen in life...but you're thinking of your family and Bruno, and if he will be well cared for and loved by his new family it is not a bad thing at all...some poeple would just "dump" him out or keep him in a cage:( So i feel sorry that u could not stay with him but happy you took the time and found him a new family!! |
Bruno Good for you! Love is doing what is best for the one you love..sometimes thigns just do not work out...also by posting your situation, others might read it who have little time for training and not get a pup for the time being. Best wishes |
Treena, kudos to you for having such a caring attitude toward your baby. Believe me, I feel as if I've added a newborn to our household and my quiet little existance got turned on it's ear!! However, I don't work outside the home and am able to devote 24/7 to Bo just like your friend will be. Pass along this web address to her and good luck with your 1 year old!! :) |
There's absolutely nothing wrong with what you did Treena! You found your baby a loving home with parents that can properly take care of him! When the time is right, you can find another Yorkie and I'm sure he or she will be friends with Bruno! :) |
Treena, congratulations on making a decision that's best for Bruno! We all know how difficult a decision it had to be for you but I agree it is the best thing for him. Do stay in touch and keep us updated on little Bruno!! ;) |
I think you're being more responsible by givin ghim to a family that can dedicate time to him than if you kept him yourself. Good job! And it's great the you can see him whenever you want. Good luck! |
Ditto! I admire what you did. |
I admire you for REALLY loving Bruno! Bless you! |
Thank you! I just wanted to say thank you to all of you that have responded with such kind words! :) It's made this transition a little bit easier. It'll be hard adjusting to life without him being there. I did my fair share of crying but at least I can have comfort knowing that he's going to be well taken care of and he hasn't passed on. Anyway, thanks again and I hope you don't mind if I continue posting here every so often! Treena :o |
Thanks for sharing your experience. Keep in touch! ;) |
