Excited wiggler! Roxy is 5-1/2 mo. Anytime we go somewhere & she sees people/kids and/or dogs, she gets the most incredible case of the wiggles I've ever seen. She's just soooo excited. Just finished puppy classes this past week... wiggle, wiggle, wiggle alllll the way through class time & pulling on the leash the whole time. The wiggling doesn't stop until we are back in the car. She learns quickly, but have to do the commands at home to get her to focus at all. After we got her I came down with a virus & was sick for about 6 weeks which really slowed down any socialization. Now it's just too thrilling to her. She just loves everybody. Have recently taken her for a partial day at doggie daycare twice in an effort to work out some of these wiggles. A little too soon to tell for sure, but I do think it's helping. First day she was pretty overwhelmed with all the dogs. Second day she didn't want to leave. :) This particular day care has webcams running & I could come home and watch her on the internet. Pretty cool. While at day care, & running with the other dogs, she doesn't do all that wiggling, but on the leash it doesn't stop. We are making good progress at walking on the leash... until she sees or hears someone. Has anyone else got a wiggler like this? Is there a fix for this? Any suggestions will be appreciated. BTW, she is such a doll & a real sweetie! |
That is exactly like Tia. In fact at puppy classes sitting still is a problem because of the wiggles, I love it and so does everyone she meets. We wiggle out the door, wiggle at everyone she sees even if they are across the street, wiggle at any dog and especially big wiggles at her family. This is one of my fav things about her. I think it shows a really charming, fun personality. So heres to all you wigglers. |
Molly is like that too. She just wiggles (I call it "all a quiver".) when I come home and really goes crazy when my daughter and grandkids come over. She also is beside herself wiggling when I take her over my daughter's house. My daughter has a pug who is a couple of months older than Molly. After she gets done all of her initial wiggling, then Molly and Leah run about until both are exhausted. It's cute to see her wiggle when she gets so excited like that. I hope she always stays a wiggler! :yorkiesar :dogwalk: |
How old are your wigglers? Is this part of her puppiness, or a probable lifetime trait? It is funny to see & cracks me up. However I was hoping she would get to a point where we could walk normally & greet people/dogs with good manners. You know like my training efforts were paying off. :confuse2: At least she loves everybody & a real keeper. The wiggles to this extreme is something I've never experienced with previous dogs we've had. Wiggling on slippery floors is a sight to be seen. Feet going in all directions. :D Everyone seems to enjoy it, but it does make it harder to keep her from jumping up on people. Thanks! |
My sister has a "wiggler"...and a word of caution....just be very careful when holding them...if they are going crazy wiggling...because Sophie wiggled right out of my niece's arms and fell to the floor landing on her head....everyone was TERRIFIED because she knocked herself out...they thought she had died...it was pretty scary...thank goodness she was ok...but wigglers can be harder to manage.... Don't know if there is anyway to stop it....Sophie is still a wiggling fiend when anyone comes home or over...lol The new rule at their house is to NOT pick her up until she chills out a bit! lol |
