Help I found Pixie and Roxie eating a plastic claw clip for a persons hair. I found the metal piece but one or both ate several of the plastic claws. I can't believe they would eat that. I fed them some of their wet food to coat their stomachs. Do you think they will pass it through? I don't think they can do anything at the vets. I will keep a close eye on both of them and pray they pass it through. Has anyone had their dogs eat plastic and pass it? Thanks |
Gosh, Patti! If it's not one thing, it's another, huh? Those little stinkers! This past weekend, Maddie and Libby...or both chewed up what we think was a toy. I could tell there were many pieces missing. It was blue. Anyway, when I got up the next morn, one of them had puked on the floor and there were little blue pieces in that. Then, when I was picking up poop outside, one of them had little blue pieces in it. So, hopefully that will work for Pixie and Roxie...minus the puking, of course! Hugs to you! |
Roxie has done this too. Not sure what it is about those things but I have to make sure they are put up and out of sight. She never got sick from it. I went to put my hair up and discovered the clip was all chewed up. She's chewed up her own too. I take it out of her hair at bedtime and set it on my nightstand and she reached over and grabbed it I guess and demolished it. There was a bully stick there too but she chose the clip . Silly little girl. I hope all is ok! |
Thanks. I searched everywhere because some of the missing pieces were pretty long and sharp and I found all but 1 long piece and 2 short pieces. I am hoping they hid them somewhere although I looked high and low. I think the amount they would have eaten shpuld pass through. I feel better knowing they just chewed most of it and spit it out. Ever since Maya passed away, Pixie has become like a puppy. She never chewed things, she rarely played with toys and now she is playing and getting in trouble with her partner in crime and ring leader Roxie! |
I think they will be fine, Gucci has eaten a number of things  the lil stinker and so far he has been OK with either passing them or vomiting them up. I hate when he does either but I'd rather it come out then poke something internally or become a blockage. The largest thing was a Nose from a Stuffy about the size of a Penny and round and fat! I don't know how he vomited that up but he did  it was very scary to see that come out of him. I was so thankful it came out ok. I am glad to hear they didn't chew the entire thing up and only got pieces of it.. I think they will be OK. Please do keep us updated on how they do. It usually takes Gucci 24 hours for things to come out.. so not the first poo after the ingestion but the second one it should be there.. Hope that helps!! ~Adrianna |
Oh no, I hope they don't get sick:( |

OH no! It really depends on if they chewed up the pieces, or swallowed bigger chunks. My Izzy LOVES these things and she's eaten several and been just fine, aside from some really weird poops:laugh: My dd and I are really careful now to make sure we don't leave anything where she can get it, she even tried to eat dd's phone once:rolleyes:  I hope your darlings will be just fine and I'm sure you're keeping a close eye on them for any symptoms of distress. Hugs! |
Thanks everyone. They seem fine today. Roxie had her first poop and nothing so I will lokok forward to her second one!!! Pixie still hasn't gone but is acting ok so I am watching her closely. |
I caught Tootsie and Teddy tossing an object back and forth, that turned out to be a dime. I was able to get it away from them, though. These little guys will try to eat anything! I know how scary it can be. Most of the time when they have something they shouldn't they'll eat it on the run before you can get to them. Hope your little one will be o.k. |
My border collie used to chew up and eat plastic like it was the best thing in the world and he was ok, but then again he is a bigger breed I would think that as long as the pieces weren't awfully big, they should pass without a problem =) |
