How does your baby get your attention? This is probably not even thread-worthy, but I just gotta tell'ya, these babies are sooooo smart lol...About a week ago, Apple learned to jump on the couch, and onto the back of it; it's not against the wall:eek:...I didn't make a big-deal of it, but just gently lifted her down, on the carpet, and said nothing....Everytime she jumped up there, I'd get up, lift her down, and go about my business....Well now, if she brings me her ball, or something to play with, and I don't get up and play w/her, she jumps on the top of the couch, knowing I'll get up and move her to the floor:p...Now tell me she doesn't know that I really don't want her up there, and this is a way to get my attention lol...IN FACT, she just jumped up there, so I'd get off the computer, and pay attention to her lol...Does anyone else's baby have special ways to get your attention? Maggie & Apple:aimeeyork xoxoxox |
My Niko (RIP) used to drop his toys off our dock when we were at the lake. He knew that I'd jump up and rescue the toys before they sank. Oliver puts his front paws up on my leg and gives the the biggest "mom I love you doggie eyes" that you have ever seen. It's hilarious - he's such a sucky boy! Michele :-) |
My baby has become a true momma's boy. He wants something, he starts this really pathetic whining. :D |
LOL - Bailey gets our attention two different ways: 1. Hits the potty bell and then goes and sits in front of the cabinet that holds her bully sticks 2. Lay in the middle of the floor, play dead and then do a complete body shake. She'll repeat as necessary until we pay attention to her. :) |
Karrie How Smart Is That!!!!!!!! |
My dog loves attention. He spins or does tricks when he wants my attention, especially when he is begging for food. When I am on my computer, he bucks off my chair. Sometimes when I watch TV, he might drop a toy by my feet to tell me he wants to play. |
Definitely thread-worthy!:D Depends on what he wants attention for. Squirrels: red alert! whining and barking, running back & forth in a frenzy between me and the sliding glass door, trembling Wants to sleep with Daddy (if he goes to bed first): silently sitting by bedroom door, maybe a little door scratching Wants to go out to potty: sits beside me, and just looks at me. (Snoopy says, "I'm fine with going on the cawpet. If she wants me to go out so bad, she will just have to wead my wittle mind. Hahaha!":p) |
I just want to describe how he bucks off my chair, because he looks so cute when he does it. He bucks off my chair by doing a little acrobatic move. First, he turns his body in the air. Then he hits the chair with his back feet, and then he uses his feet to push off my chair. He does this constantly until I look at him. |
Attention !! If I'm standing, Pebbles will bump me on the leg with her nose then back up & sit. And she'll continue until you acknowledge her. If I'm at the computer or sitting, she'll "talk" and scoot backward & sit & wait for me to answer her. She gets louder & louder until you direct her attention toward her. They sure are Human aren't they!:animal36 |
Ha! Good thread!! I'd love to see Joshie buck off!! Sounds like he's ready for the circus!! :) |
Lola will stiffen all 4 legs. Then she'll start scuffing her back feet really fast while doing this half bark half growl noise. It's hilarious! |
Sam does nothing to get my attention and Lola will bark at me. |
Mayzie stands at my feet on her hind legs and then paws me on my leg with one of her front paws 3 times and then waits, if I don't respond fast enough she will do it again, 3 times this cycle repeats until I respond in some way. Mo will "talk" to me. Usually when he wants picked up or to go out. If I think it is just for attention (ie. if he was just outside) then I will tell him to be quiet and then he "whispers" lol It's cute. Gotta love'em! They are so dang smart. They are cute and they all know it! |
How cute is that! Nolee will stare at me for a while and if I ignore him, he will, then whine until I look at him! If I am napping he will come and lick me on the mouth!! LOL! Got to love 'em!! |
That is too cute! Thanks for sharing!! And I completely understand you not wanting her up there. Leo did the same thing as a puppy and fell off - scared the poo out of me!!!!! But now that he's a "big boy", that's his favorite spot to lay. When he wants my attention, he just barks at me. HIGHLY annoying. |
Whining:D |

If I'm sitting down Bear will run up to my face and starting licking it. :animal-pa |
Tila will stand up and put her paw on my leg and like scratch. And if I don't look at her or let her know I see her she'll make this like whine/growl sound. lol. It's too cute. She gets all happy with her little tail wagging when I look at her and ask what, what do you want baby. |
Teddy will stand on his back leg and move his front paws really fast back and forth... hard to explain... but really funny. It became one of his trick. You have to tell him " do your move Teddy" and he start! he's so funny |
When Molly want's us to pet her/give her affection: she'll jump up on mine or my husband's lap and "pet/paw" our chest until we pet her, and when we stop she does it more aggressively. haha. When she get's sleepy and want's her belly rubbed: she get's in our lap and falls backwards [knowing we will catch her]. She loves to be held like a baby. :) When she's ready for bed: She will go up the first few stairs and sit there, staring at us, waiting for us to follow her up. If we don't, she'll go up a little more and wait.....lol. She's very Spoiled! :p |
Samantha my teapot puts her head on your leg and then boom she is on your lap she might be a biggie but she is so fast!!!!!! lol Tootsie is a howler if one of the other furbabies is annoying her she looks at DH or me and puts her head to ceiling and howls. If she can't see me she howls if she wants me to pick her up she howls................. You ever hear a 4 1/2 yorkie howl?? Not pleasant!!!!!!!:eek: |
