Yuk! not very nice As some of you know my baby had a bad belly 5 days ago , vomiting bile, jelly like blood in poop and vet said she had gastro, got meds and been fine UNTIL THIS MORNING! She was sick bile again although normal poop but there was a worm in her vomit! Grossed me out. Shes not due for her next worm tablet for another 3 weeks but I hope I did the right thing and gave her one anyway. Her last one was in Feb. Do you think that was ok? Do you think that was the cause of her gastro? She has Milbemax tabs that covers all types of worms , it looked like a round worm to me. I didnt think they could get roundworm at 9 mths old. Any feed back will be helpful. |
How old is she. I would call your vet. She needs treatment. When I wormed my pups it was every second week for 4 weeks. Good Luck and call your vet |
Ug that sounds so miserable for the poor little thing. I didn't know they could vomit worms, I always thought they came out the other end. Was the worm dead or alive? I hope your baby feels better soon. I'd check with your vet again just to cover all your bases. |
Check w/Your Vet I would think this is very bad as I've never heard of a dog throwing up a worm. Take that worm with you and go see your vet ASAP. I would think they would / should have caught it if she had worms. If your vet can't see her find one that can. Dogs can die from worms not to mention they feel horrible while living with them in their tummies. Oh,you poor things. I will be praying for you. |
Yes hun, they can vomit worms from the mouth. It is most important for the vet to identify the worm to treat it properly. The dogs are usually pretty heavily invested when they vomit with the worm showing. Yes the dog can be wormed again, in my opinion. It is obvious that what the vet gave her before didn't work. I would also check around outside where she may go and make sure she isn't getting into anything dead. Animal, bird, etc etc The worm was probably alive, right? |
