Scales What kind of scales(and where do you buy)do you use to weigh your newborns? Thanks in advance |
I've heard that the postal scale, the type that you would use to weigh letters with, works well for weighing the little ones. You should be able to find them at any office supply store. |
We have one of those, but, it's so darn tiny, I can't even get my 2 lb biewer on there |

By the way I think thinking of one like this: Weigh Max - 75lb x 0.2lb Postal scale (black/ silver/ gray/ white) Not this: http://base1.googlehosted.com/base_m...d331521d&hl=en |

i also use a box and reset the scale to zero with the box on. it is VERY accurate. i used it a lot for bree when i first got her because the little squirt was about 1lb, 5 oz and i wanted to make sure she was gaining at least a little weight every day :) i think i got it on ebay for about $35? it was so long ago i forgot but i know it was not over $35 hth :D |
Amazon.com has several in the $20 to $30 price range. I didn't know I wanted one until I started reading this thread :) . Gus is on a diet, so it will help monitor our progress. On second thought, forget about it. He won't stay still. |
I've heard people use one of those digital food scales. Don't know how everyone on here feels about that, but they have a much larger surface area, so that might be the answer for you. |
Well, going to have to start looking around. Need to start buying a little at a time for when I start breeding thanks for the replies |
You need to post some pics of that baby |
Scale I use a food digital scale that actually I bought from Walmart in 2006. It measures in both GRAMS and OUNCES which is VERY beneficial to a breeder, as weighing in grams you can really tell if your babies are gaining or losing faster than you can in ounces. I believe it cost around $30 then. I would recommend it. |
