Another topknot question Do any of you trim the hair on top of their head just long enough to put bands in? I was so happy when his hair started to grow out and I would put a scrunchy in during the day to get it out of his eyes and I thought it looked cute. But NOW even though he still has some stragglies from when I cut his bangs the hair on top of his head has to be 5 inches long! When I put it up the hair in the band flips into his eyes. So do you cut it so it's short in the band or do we have to really learn how to do topknots the right way with 3 bands? :p Or does it just need to grow more so that it hangs down the back instead of the front? Jeez am I making any sense? I'd appreciate ANY tips you guys have. I should just do a puppy cut since I'm becoming WAY to obsessed with his hair! |
No, you're not the only one with these questions. I use to love Tatum's topknot when it wasn't real long but long enough to fan out real pretty. Now if I don't do a "proper one", it hangs down in front of her face. I honestly don't know how Villette's girls have such pretty long topknots! What I do though is do three twists with the band and then on the fourth pull-through with the hair, I don't pull it all the way through which makes the round pouf. That doesn't sound like it makes sense, does it? |
When Cheri's hair did the Hair-Visor thing - I used ONE band and just had it a little more forward than I keep it now - I've never used the 3 band way - I was too confused - kind of reminds me of my tv remote ....what to do with the other stuff on it ? :D |

ps...I was thinking about Villette's girls too and their hair just seems to stay straight down their backs. I think Brutus would have like a 2 foot long pony tail hanging in FRONT of his face. Not really the look we would be going for!:shocked7q |
Angie it worked! Thanks! |
That was funny Carolyn - I just posted Chanel as a Valley Girl with her sideways over one eye ponytail - I'd love to see how you did - Angie gave you GREAT directions - that's about how I put in a bow but it would have taken ME three posts to describe it - |
I have come to the realization that my dogs will NEVER look as good as Chanel & Cheri. Villette, you set the bar too high! The rest of us works so hard to get our pups to look that good - it's impossible!! I'm not buying it - I think you photoshop those perfect topknots!! Your girls really have bed-head, don't they?? Then with a little copying & pasting, we get the perfect girls that we see on YT, right??? Just kidding, of course!! |

I have the groomer leave the hair just alittle longer on the head so I can still put a topknot in. The body I quess is a puppy cut. I just tell them a yorkie cut. It looks real cute. |
I did the topknot thing for about 2-3 months before it was chopped off. lol I couldn't do it everyday and her hair was driving me nuts. It make work for others but not for me. lol Congrats to all those that can do it. ^_^ |
How much hair do you pull up in a top noth? Giget has a pouppy cut but her hair is getting long on her head....my hubby told me that I had to put it up or we needed to trim her so I wanted to know how much hair goes up? do you take it as far back as her hears are or do you take hair from further back? and then how much in the front....I know it will probobly be hard to explain but any help will be good....she is looking a mess over here. |
