Do you work or stay at home with doggy? We get Lolly May 7th (can't WAIT!) and I am taking a week off of work to be with her and work on her housebreaking. I'm just wondering how many people work full time and who is home full time? I'm concerned about going back to work and all of my hard work with the housebreaking going out the window. My son will be home for the summer three weeks later and he can care for Lolly. But I don't want my work to mean nothing in the meantime! |

I dont work anymore but I go to school from 930 to 130. When Mitzy was a puppy I worked EARLY morning (430) until 1030 so by the time I was getting home she was just waking up or had been up only for an hour and my husband had taken her out and fed her before he left for work. Maybe if you do go to work are they pretty flexible about you leaving every 2 hours to check on her and let her out to potty?? |
I work at home with my little ones . |
I am a stay-at-home Mommy to both my skin and furbaby's. I think it really helps with the housetraining, but that doesn't mean your efforts will go out the window when you return to work. What I do is set up an exercise pen with a crate for sleeping, food, water, and pee pads on the opposite side from the crate. It works really, really well. Puppy won't want to pee/poo where it sleeps or eats, so the only place left to go is the pads! :) |
I'm stay at home. Figured I would go back to work when my hubby retires. :D |
Thanks for all the feedback!!!! You all are the best! |
P.S. My major problem is that I live 30 minutes from home so I can't go home at lunch. With Leo, I had friends who would let him out at noon. That is no longer an option so I feel trapped. |

I have always been a stay-at-home mom. Even for Ms. Jorja. ;) |

Sorry, I work full time. Just not willing to tighten the belt strings and have a budget. Plus, I like the security of knowing if my dog gets ill I can afford the vet bills. I got Barley as an adult so didn't have to deal with the puppy training. My GP I got as a puppy and I left him in an X pen. We got him a few weeks before school was out for summer. I took two weeks off to get him adjusted. After that my teenagers took care of him while we were at work. My area has a lot of offers for dog walkers. Have you considered that? |
I stay at home with Lilly. My amazing boyfriend travels working and I just stay home and sew. I love being home with Lilly. Before, I did go to school for 8 hours and she'd be home by herself and she did fine. She was confined to the kitchen with a baby gate up, she had her food, water, bedding, pee pad and toys. She would pee but she rarely ate, drank or played. |
Unfortunately i am home disabled from work and will soon be on SSDI (i HATE IT) but this is good for Sweet Pea. That was one of the reasons why we got her as i now no longer work and can be home all day with her. |
