Wall rubbing dog!! My Moxie loves to drag himself along all my walls! I bath him every week but it still leaves a wide stripe of oily dirt. Should I bath him more? I'm always afraid of drying his coat out...does anyone elses dog do this? His collor makes a ruckus as he does this and I wonder if he just likes the sound it makes. He'll go down one side and then up the other....crazy dog LOL! Terry & Moxie |
It sounds like he is very itchy to me. Is he eating a food that is corn based? Corn makes Yorkies itchy. |
Bailey does this too,ALOT,,, mostly on the couch,, and chairs.....I wonder WHy also.... |
I would seek out a homepathic or natural pet store and find out how to treat the itchiness. Do you already use an oatmeal shampoo? If not, try that and eliminate corn from the diet for sure. Hope this helps...good luck! |
I wonder if he is itchy also. Neither of my dogs have done this.. |
lexi only rubs against things after she has her bath.. i guess its to dry off |
oh MAN can I sympathise...Not in the house I live in now... but the last one ....we had this LONG hallway with 3 windows in it - My cocker would WALL WALK to clean her FACE on the wall - do you know what doggie face goobers look like on the wall ? totally disgusting. We didn't notice at first cause the hall wasn't visible from the living room but when I Did see what she was doing I freaked. I used a citrus based cleaner that had all natural ingredients in it and would scrub and scrub ...Finally I painted the hall and watched her every move and she finally broke out of that habit. What I would try now is deoderant on the walls - I heard they don't like the smell and many people use it for chewers - wonder if it works for a little wall walking yorkies? |

I often suggest the deodorant but it does not work on the walls cause they are not chewing them. Garett does this rub against the wall thing too. He is not itchy, we call it being a cat. I have a cream colored sectional and it has the "ring" around it too. He loves to rub against walls (especially the hall way), the couch, kitchen cabinets and people. I think that he has been playing with my 20 pound Siamese, Sake' too much LOL. |
well....let's see.....we got dogs eating walls.....dogs rubbing walls....dogs cleaning their face on the walls....probably got some dogs here peeing on the walls too but we're too embarassed to post it.... let me know when one of your dogs paints a murel on the wall :D what is this world coming to??? :p just joking around :) |
Haha - I think with all the 'accidents' we read about with our yorkies - I just BET someone has had a nice little mural painted on their walls ;) |
Bell does that! She rubs her body against the couches, walls, and just about anthing else. She also rubs her head into the carpet. But she hasn't done it in a while, maybe because I changed her shampoo and conditioner. |

LOL! After I wrote that...Sully came to mind :p I wouldn't be suprised :D |
I don't think Moxie is itchy...it's more like he enjoys hearing the sound of his collar rubbing down the walls...at least I never see him itch any other time. He just drags himself one way and then the other making this awful scrapping sound. Mr. Clean erasers take off the grim he leaves behind thank goodness LOL |
