How do you report a puppy mill?? I know of a puppymill, and don't know how to get it shut down :(. |
I would place a call to the local animal control, the police, and the news paper. You are sure to get a rise out of one of them |

Sorry for the delay in response guys... It wasn't the MOST horrible thing I had seen...the yorkies I saw were healthy "looking" not mangy or anything that you see in the horror story puppymills of horrible neglect. They did have food, BUT they are in this shed in stacked cages...not TOO cramped, but in the GA heat it is sad that they have to be outside...He did have a fan running, but it was still sad. He has WAY too many breeds out there, AND he mentioned that there were like 200 out back, which I don't even know what that means if it's grown dogs that he breeds? He was cleaning out one of the sheds when I was there because on of the dogs got parvo and he wanted to prevent the other dogs from getting it so he moved them out... I looked up Georgia law and he is required to have a kennel license. Did you see one displayed? He is also required to quarantine animals if there has been an infectious disease (in this case parvo). There are basic standards of care set forth in the Georgia Animal Protection Act passed in 2000. Omg>> That is so bad, I am not sure what the laws are in your State, but you may get something done becuase of the number of dogs he has. Did you buy a puppy?? I would hope not, because that is what keeps them going. But here is some info, I don't like cageing thing, but by law it is ok as long as they have room to move around. For as food, they should get feed 1 or 2 times a day, not have food out all the time. But they should have water all the time. I have an indoor kennel out back, I think is set up very cute. I have AC out there and fans, here in Alabama I just have the fans going now, he has not got hot here. My dogs have doggie doors. But anyway getting back to him. You may call the humane society, if that don't work call your vet and ask him what to do. It is all up on the Laws of where he lives. I hate this because this is what gives all breeders a bad name. |
I think it needs to be reported. at least they can go out and see for themselves and if they can they will shut them down. please keep us updated |
