Indy Goes To Prison 1 Attachment(s) Indy is one of my pups born last January (2008). He is a real sweetie but always had a little quirk. Whenever he gets excited, he runs in circles, always to the left, thus the name "Indy". Anyway, last fall, we found the perfect home for him. He now owns my DIL's Grandfather. He's an elderly guy but is still very active. They seem made for each other as he's a bit of a quirky guy himself and he's completely accepting of Indy's 'quirk'. Indy is no longer 'Indy' to him but instead is now 'Brutus'. He's still 'Indy' to everyone else in the family. :p. Maybe "Brutus' is a better name for him tho. It gives him 'street cred'. You see, Indy's (Brutus') dad works as a prison chaplin. So, everyday when he goes to work, Indy goes with him. From the reports I"m getting, Indy (Brutus) is melting the hearts of some of Alabama's toughest guys. He's a big hit at the prison and he gets much spoiling by the convicts. I guess no one can resist "Yorkie Love" when confronted with it. Here's a pic of Indy at 6 months old when he was still with me. He's a great little guy and I'm so proud of him. |
Aww..that is a great story it made me smile, thanks for sharing that! |
Aww good for Indy/Brutus!! He sure melted my heart!! |
what a cute story... I am glad Indy is happy with his new daddy and I can just see those tough as nails criminals melt over him.. I sight to see I am sure... glad it all worked out...:D anne |
He's just your everyday Yorkie doing what God put them here for. One thing, tho. If he ever gets lost, he'll be easy to identify. I hear he's got a few prison tatoos :D (just kidding...) |
Thats the great side of breeding, seeing your babies having a great life! Indy, I mean Brutus is a beautiful boy. Tell him he is too young for tatoos:p |
Brutus is a much better prison name than Indy! Tough little Yorkie, I love it! |

LOL Darling story.....I just LOVE Indy...er uh Brutus's face!!! :D |
That picture is ridiculously adorable. Just don't let him join a gang! |
OMG my Tigger does the same thing. When he gets excited about anything, he goes in circles...........always to the left. It is so funny. I told my hubby I should attached a dust rag to him and have him dust, but hubby said, only the left side of the house would be clean. LOLOLOL |
That face can melt anyone's heart. What a doll!! And doing the Lord's work! Awesome. |
He looks so cute; I am glad you found the right person to adopt him. I think it is cute how some dogs run in circles when they are excited. My dog spins when he gets excited. I am not surprise that the inmates' love him. Dogs love everybody and help people relax. |

LOLOLOL Cinigee, sounds like you need one that circles to the right so you have a matched pair. Then they could clean circles around the house. :p That face can melt anyone's heart. What a doll!! And doing the Lord's work! Awesome. He is a cutie, isn't he, sandyapk. I'm happy he loves his new home but am especially proud of him for brightening the day of so many. :) |

Ïndy "My little trevor spins too....I thought it was a ÿorki"thing since none of my other furbabies do it.... I saw a TV program once where the inmates were given dogs to train, live with, be responsible for and it made a hugh difference in their rehabilitation. Sad part is, these inmates got very attached to these dogs, and after they were all trained, they went to their forever homes and the inmates had to say goodbye. That is why I think I could never foster any kind of animal, or even have a litter of puppies, I would end up keeping them all  |
What a great story! He is adorable! |
Awww.....what a great story!! Such a cutie....how could he NOT melt :2hearts2: Thanks for sharing! :goodpost: |
He has a very important job:)! What a lovely boy My Luna is a spinner, too, and only to the left! We call her Zoolander, though he couldn't turn left. It's the funniest thing, she won't stop sometimes:p |
You all make me wish Roxie was a spinner! What a great story, and he's such a handsome little bruiser. |
What a wonderful story! The pic of him looks like he's laughing. I love how Yorkies have so much expression! |
Thats a great story. I had a friend who brought her greyhound as a therapy dog in one of the prisons here. |
Jim, what a nice looking guy. Gorgous....Lissette |
Indy's 'prison gig' was a surprise to me. I think it's great that he has a job. He also goes almost everywhere with his new Dad. When they first approached me about Indy, I was a little hesitant. He was so used to having so many 'dog buddies' and my DIL's Grandfather lives alone and has no other dogs. I agreed to him getting Indy because they are a very close family all living near each other and many of them have dogs so Indy gets lots of play dates with his 'cousins'. I'm glad I did because it's all worked out so well. I hope to get to see him soon as I have a new Grand Daughter up there that I'll be visiting often. She was born March 24 and I was just there last weekend. I got to talk with Indy's new Dad then but, unfortunately, did not get to see Indy/Brutus. On my next visit, I'll for sure drop in to see him. |
Aww... What a cute story! :) |
