VERY nice drawings!!!! I think the price is also fair.:) |
I like both of the pictures your husband drew. I especially love the color picture. I looked up the prices for a pet portrait to compare prices. I find your price to be very reasonable. |
Wow, those are awesome. I think the price is very reasonable. I draw as well I did one of Tila, but it wasn't anywhere near as good as your husbands. lol. I got more work to do, I was never very good with my shading. |
Wow! I think both pictures are beautiful, your husband is very talented. I think the price is very fair for an orginal piece, especially considering the wok involved. |
Those are very beautiful drawings. Your husband should feel very proud of himself. I wish I could draw like that. The most I can do is like spongebob, lol. :D I think the price is fair. |
I also think the drawings are fantastic! I can't draw a straight line with a ruler, tho, so maybe I'm overawed? Here's a suggestion (and you might already have this so...) Why doesn't your husband post some of his art on a website so people can see a sample? He could do different sizes for different prices. I can't afford it but if I had the money I would pay $30 for a drawing of my baby. I had the art teacher at school draw a pug for my daughter for Christmas but he drew it on manila paper and did a very quick job, so it wasn't "professional" BUT the picture was awesome even at that and my daughter loves it---with that in mind, your husband is using quality paper and other materials, he should definitely charge for it if he's going to sell it! Good luck! :) |
Drawings Your husband is very very talented. I'm sorry that someone made you or him feel bad. The prices you are asking are very reasonable. Please don't let 1 bad experience make you stop what you are doing. Perhaps asking for a small deposit would be good, so your husband does not put all the effort into a drawing and then get nothing for it. Again in my humble opinion I think he is very talented. If I could get a good picture of my gang....for sure I would I have him draw them. Anyway.....great job !!!!:D:D |
Your husband has been blessed to be so artistically talented. I thought both drawings were absolutely beautiful. I also felt that the price was reasonable as well. Right now it is not in my budget, but, over the summer as well as Molly looking more presentable and a good pic of her; I would love to have your husband draw a pic. :star: |
Just beautiful....great job& GREAT price |

I think it's a wonderful pic. That's an awsome idea for gifts for my family members that have pets! The way I see there are 2 groups of people out there. The ones that want the hand made things and appreciate the time and talent that go into it and the ones who want it for cheap but don't understand what it takes to hand make something and just want it like it's been made on an assembly line in a factory. I've done a few craft shows with my mom. She paints. Depending how much time, money and the level of difficulty is how she determines the price on her paintings. I sew and it's the same way. I don't think 45 dollars was unreasonable at all. It's probably a steal if that includes framing and shipping! Don't undersell yourselves! The right buyer will come along and be happy to pay what your asking or more. Especially if it's a pic sketched of their own dog! Stick to your guns. |
I think both are wonderful! I don't think the price is out of line at all! |
As a fellow artist - I recommend he post them at: redbubble.com There your art sells and they do all of the printing and shipping. FREE!!! Free to join - free to sell. I cant say enough good things about it. I made 17,000.00. alone there on my art work last year. Very family oriented and friendly. Give it a shot! :animal-pa xoxo :animal-pa |
Wow...your husband is very talented..I think the prices are very fair. |
I think the pictures are great and the price is good. You for sure don't want to underprice it--I think that if it's more expensive, people value it more. And no way would I do the picture first and then send a picture of it--I'd get the $ upfront, and if they are totally unsatisfied, maybe then do a refund. I like the idea of showing examples of his work, so people would get an idea, but I wouldn't give them a photo of the drawing of their own dog. |
I think they are both very nice and so is the price. Most ppl expect a drawing, portrait or sketch to look like a photograph and of course they are different things altogether. |

Has he ever thought about trying to take his drawings on to pen and ink? I had great luck selling those. I worked from photographs or patterns but he could do it freehand. I started with a pencil sketch, then went over with the pen and ink, and often used a "rouging method" after that. Rouging is taking a small amount of oil paint mixed with a gel and putting a little tint on the picture, just in some areas. You rub it on like rouge, hence the name. Just an idea.... Best of luck to you both! |
I love both of them. Price is VERY reasonable. |
Both are beautiful!! Let me know if you and your hubby decide to do do more pencil drawings, as I would love to have one of Conner. Good luck. |
I like both sketches. The finished frame picture is really stunning. He is very talented - adding this to my wish list! |
WOOOOOW I LOVE IT..Very talented. Would he sketch a pic of our dogs..... |
That picture is BEAUTIFUL! I especially love the colored one and I think $45 is very reasonable. He could definitely make a small "business" out of that. I know I would buy a beautiful picture like that of my boys! |
My opinion is this. First off, hats off to your husband for his artistic ability. I always believed that you had to be born with a natural talent for it. Damn I barely knew the art of printing my name, lol All joking aside, both prints are well done. If I had a choice I would prefer color. Reason being that Yorkie colorings are all so different. Some have that real Golden face. Some silver. I believe with color it would show more individuality. I believe your husband could do quite well here, getting some business. I for one would like to get one of Jemma in the next month. Perhaps with the prices he could go by the size of what a person wants. A smaller one, a smaller price. The larger the more expensive. It makes sense. Larger pictures require more time. However, black pencil is also very popular. I think it is simply a matter of what one prefers. |
How insulting for the owner of the picture to just disappear like that. Your husband did a wonderful job and his prices are way more than fair. My neighbor does animal portraits, all kinds of animals, and she's very good but her prices start at $250.00 and they go up from there. |
Those drawings were great!! Your husband has great talent. Both drawings were very good. Price sounds very reasonable. If the person that he drew them for doesn't want them, tell him to put them on ebay. |
I am impressed, I think the sketches are beautiful and the price is right. I'd buy it... |
I LOVE them. If you can give me a couple months for Miley to grow some hair out haha...I want to purchase one of my Hannah and Miley :) I would love to have a nice picture of them to hang in my bedroom...or maybe family room along side of our family photos. Let me know if you have Pay Pal and if you will be doing this again? :p |
Wow what a great artist!! When i find the right picture, i would love for him to draw Bella. :) |
