Jackson Was Neutered I brought him in yesterday. I left the practice of the old vet who said he would do the neutering in 2 surgeries. .Turns out his undescended testicle was in his thigh and he had several baby teeth that had to be extracted. He looked really out of it when I brought him home (the same day). I would not leave him at the vet because no one is there overnight. Today he is back to his peppy self except he has to wear that plastic lampshade for a week! :( |
I am glad that Jackson is home with you now. So, two surgeries? Did Jackson have both surgeries when he went in or does he have to go back? Schatzie sends puppy hugs to Jackson! :p |
He just had one surgery, but 2 incisions were made. The first vet siad it would be probably 2 seperate surgeries. That's why I found a new vet! |

Puppy hugs and kisses to Jackson from Duke. Duke was neutered last Friday, and I too, brought him home the same day. Duke didn't come home with an e-collar, but he did come home with a week's work of antibiotics and pain medication. I was worried that Duke would lick his incision site, but thankfully, he didn't. He is now fully recovered and doing great! |
I will let you know Jackson had been raising his leg and marking- which is NOT cute! He also humps his stuffed animals, which my ten year old son thinks is hilarious. I will let you know if his behavior changes... |
It's only been a week since Duke was neutered, so I will let you know if I notice any changes. I have a friend that has had a Boston Terrier that has been neutered for over 8 years now, and he still continues to hump the leg of anyone that sits still long enough. |
Glad to here Jackson is diong so well. My Vet says is take about a month for there hormones to get straight..............Cindy |
how old was he when he was neutered? Luigi likes to hump his stuffed kitty cat. At 1st we would yell at him and take it away but he would get mad. So then we took it away all together and he went crazy. He kept running all ovver and looking everywhere for it. He also would empty out his toy basket and staert barking cuz it wasn't in there!!!   We hid it in this one room that we keep the door closed to cuz he is not allowed in that room. He must have sensed that it was in that room. He kept barking at the door. and scrathing and would dig. So we gave in and gave it back to him. He mainly just plays with it now and doesn't have much more interest in humping it. But he is getting fixed next month. He'll be 6 months then. |
Glad Jackson's surgery went well! Bo sends puppy kisses!! ;) |
Hannah and Duke's Mom ... glad Jackson and Duke are recovering nicely! It's always harder on us Mom's than it is the baby!! ;) Hannah, you did the right thing switching vets! The biggest danger to these babies is the anesthesia ... our Dr. Lucy doesn't like to put them to sleep so she tries to do everything during one "nap"!! :) |
