yorkies love to run?
 
So peanut and I just got done excercising:D I was on my rollerblades and he was on his feet:D I was going at a pretty good pace and he just kept going and going...and he was full force running!! It took about 8 mins before he started to lay down anywhere he could find a place hehe

Does any other yt'ers yorkies love to run as much as peanut??

I've taken Genghis on my rollerblades for 2+ miles. I had to take breaks way before he did. I wasn't making him run fast, but he LOVES to run. I skated to the dog park and he still had plenty of energy to run around with the doggies at the park! (after a nice drink of water) on the way home he still wanted to run! That ends up being almost 5 miles! When we got home he slept the rest of the day :)

I know Piper would love to run if she could. Being I'm in my late 50's I don't roller blade and I wish I could jog but I do take long walks at the beach. I'm a fast walker but I know she wishes I walked A LOT FASTER. I never let her run loose because I don't have a fenced in yard and I'm surrounded by woods and there is no way I want her in them. Even when she is in her pen I stand outside and watch her. We have coyotes, fisher cats, foxes and hawks. It is just too dangerous outside. I do think Piper is missing out on something that she was born to do.

Late 50's is NOT too old to skate!!! you under estimate your self!!! it's a lot of fun. My parents (both late 50's) rollerblade with a bunch of people their age, and they have a great time!

On a side note I've been trying to slowly train genghis to walk/run with my bike, but it's scary when he sees something he wants and takes off (usually another dog) I've been thinking about getting little shoes for him since the weather is getting warmer and I don't want his feet to get too hot. He has soooo much energy! When I call him a yorkie I sometimes forget about the "terrier" part. :)

Bra'Tac and Andromeda are small deer!!
When we take all 4 pounds of her on a walk, it is a run.
She does two miles in a wink of an eye.
Bra'tac loves to run when we are playing fetch in the house.
I have not yet allowed him to go on walks , as he has not had all his shots, and lepto has reared its ugly head in my neighborhood.
If someone would have told me that yorkies were fast 8 years ago, I think I would have laughed out loud.:D

Yes! Wrigley LOVES to run. We can never go fast enough for him on our walks haha.

He runs with me sometimes, but I'm pretty slow and run at about 13 min miles. He LOVES to run with the hubby though. He can do about 2 miles with him doing 10 min miles. So its sad to say, but Wrigley can run faster than I can lol

Bear LOVES to run! We live on the 6th floor of a condo building with a super long hallway, when it's too nasty outside to go on walks we go into the hall and do sprints. He keeps going until he's decided he's had enough and then trots over to our front door and plops down until we catch up! :animal-pa

I think I need one of those excersing things they have for horses...you know where they walk in a circle....but for yorkies!! Its apparent peanut has wayyyy more spunk than I :D

Yeah you can hurt yourself, I stupidly tried to skate down a ramp my younger cousins built and though I was wearing a helmet I fell on my face and passed out. I haven't been down a ramp since then :)

I would not recommend skating with dog till knowing how to skate and STOP well first!
