Banfield vet in Petsmart and Teeth Bailey is 3 this year and I have recently noticed that her teeth have some plaque and her breath smells... She needs to get them cleaned but our vet that we used to know and trust and had 100% confidence in has moved states. Im not 100% confident with our new vet, and seeing as though she has to go under to get her teeth cleaned im not sure its worth the risk. Shes only 2 1/2lbs and anethisia is risky especially when u arent confident in your vets abilities. My boyfriend and I were at Petsmart yesterday and we started talking to the vet assistant in the Banfield vet office inside petsmart and she was showing us a plan kinda like insurance where they do everything from chest xrays to urine testing and blood testing and so on... in addition the plan covers a teeth cleaning. and its all for cheaper than my new vet was going to charge just for the cleaning. I guess my question is, Does anyone use the Banfield vet offices? Im not sure about the quality of care they give there but I am in search of a new vet office and this one sounded great. Anyone have any feedback on banfield??? Thanks KelsieT |

I've considered using Banfiled, however, after reading a few post on this forum, I decided to stick with the local vet which is only a 5 minute drive. You can do a search on this forum for "banfield" and should get a couple of hits. |
I have a Yorkie who is 13wks and we have used the Banfield in PetMart here in Sacramento. So far we have only gotten her puppy vaccines and her micro chip. But i will be getting her spayed there and teeth cleaning. Yes i did buy the plan that was $311.00 for the year that covers everything. I talked to a few people i know and some employees and so far i'm getting good feed-back. |
I don't know about banfield, but I have found a brushing solution. It's this bone that has bristles on it and you push the toothpaste into the bristles and the doggie chews his teeth clean. I use a beef flavored toothpaste, and do this every few days. Also I bought Genghis a bunch of chewy dental treats that make his breath smell better. Genghis hates the finger tip toothbrush and regular tooth brushes. |
depends on the vet at your banfield. if you feel comfortable with them, they are reasonably priced for their plans :) i had an awful experience at banfield but that was due to the staff there :thumbdown there are quite a few conversations about banfield on here |
