Limping! My Gibson has been lifting his back leg when he runs. But he walks on it just fine. I have applied pressure to it and it doesn't seem to hurt him. He doesn't yelp or cry. This has been going on for about a week and Im not sure if I should just go ahead and take him to the vet or not. His testicles just dropped so I do not know if that has anything to do with it. Has anyone experienced this? |
limp A limp should be checked out...it could be nothing more then a pulled muscle, but it could be a minor luxating patella that will come and go or Legg Perthes..which will need surgery.. |
Listen to YorkieRose. She nailed the diagnosis of LCP on one of my males at age 10 months. He is in a pet home and had the surgery to take out the deteriorating portion of the femur. He is a therapy dog!!!!! Something good comes from everything if you look hard enoough. Hope your baby is just limping because of a little sprain or such.. |
Frankie has the Legg Calve Perthes. I actually took him in for his breathing and found out about this. He never really seemed to favor it until that day. I can't say the Dr. did it, but, that's when it started hurting him. He was just checking his back and legs (per my request) and found it. We haven't had surgery yet. I just hate the thought of that. |
