Last night on WABC-TV news there was a report of a small dog stolen from a home in Ozone Park, Queens. The dog recognizes sign language. His owner is a young, deaf girl. She is devastated. NYC dog is calling out to all dog owner groups to spread the word. Let's help find this dog. (Incidentally, this is the third dog stolen from a house or yard in the last week in Queens.) This is the link from from 7online.com: *VIDEO: Search for a stolen dog: Video - Breaking News Videos from 7ONLINE.COM - New York News and Tri-State News Please spread the word and help reunite this young girl with her special friend. |
My heart goes out to that little girl and her family. Oh I pray she gets her little dog back. Humans are so heartless anymore.:animal-pa |
Thieves don't care who they hurt. My heart breaks for that little girl. I pray that her dog is found and returned and the SOB's go directly to jail. That's a heartbreaking sad story, |
Is this the type of world that we're going to be living in? I know many people that have lost jobs, some more than one person per household, and they don't go around steeling things....It's so heartbreaking that they had to steal this deaf girls puppy. People are doing stupid desperate things for money. I hope Pinky finds her way back to that very upset child. Everyone needs to send out a prayer for this situation and this country as a whole. |
How awful!! Thanks for sharing. Makes it scary to go outside and walk your dog. |
It might seem rather strange that a cat lover is posting here and hope you don't mind. I heard this story and it broke my heart. Have there been any updates whether that girl got Pinky back? Unfortunately this kind of thing is happening all the time everywhere. It seems everyday when I go out I see a new flyer posted on poles of missing small dogs. Unfortunately, the reason isn't always that the pet was stolen to make a pet out of it, or to sell it to make money. Many of you might have seen an ad from BEKIND.org and shows how many small dogs who are left unattended are stolen for dog fights as they are used for bait to train the dogs. I can't help wonder if this was the fate of any of the dogs I see listed on the flyer's I see all the time as well as that girl's dog Pinky. I've seen videos on youtube where surveillance cameras managed to catch these despicable people snatch dogs left in one's yard. What really goads me no end though, is how people will take their dog and then suddenly decide to go into a store to shop, tying up a dog to a traffic pole outside the store..What is with people? If a person knows they need to go shopping, why don't they leave the dog home instead of subjecting it to a possible fate as being stolen for dog fight use? Honestly, that ticks me off no end and just can't understand people. If one truly loves their pet they would do everything possible to keep it safe. It's just a real strange and unfortunate incident though, that ironically the dog Pinky was taken during that burglary where no doubt the owners DID think the pet would be safe. All the more reason to really stop the whole dog fighting "business" I really hope Pinky does get found for that girl...so please would love to hear any updates if your hear about this |
Talk about crying! How sad for this deaf girl. I hope she can get her dog back. A dog that understands sign language. Yorkies are so smart. My heart just breaks for this young woman. New Yorkers I hope you can help find this dog. Pinky is cute and with her floppy ears maybe she wont be too hard to spot. We gotta search craigs list and other sights that sell dogs. OMG lets help as much as possible. This is so wrong in so many ways. |
This angers me to no end:mad: My son who has developmental delays and high functioning autism , rides the bus each day with many children of different ages who are deaf. All who live in a very small city. My son knows how to talk to his friends in sign language. To see this girl crying for her precious, stolen dog, made me so upset , and angry for her family. My heart goes out to her. HOW could anybody steal a beloved pet from a family, after ransacking their home? People know yorkie's are valuable. that pissess me off. This child's dog no doubt was her best friend :( these thiefs are low life losers:mad: |
So sad. people are so mean. |
Lost Praying that the pup will be reunited with the family soon.....:hands: |
it is so sad and scary. i feel so bad for that little girl. People are so heartless.. I am afraid to walk my girls outside without my hubby. I just put them on treadmill for exercise when I am by myself. Thank god my girls are wee pad trained and treadmill trained. |

This is so true....people who fight dogs do use small dogs as bait for their dog fighting...its just sick! I hope this isn't the case...hopefully the little yorkie is safe somewhere and she comes home to that little girl. |
That's the saddest story. The lack of compassion from these thieves really ticks me off. The amount of missing yorkies on here lately has me realize there is a need for me to become a donating member and make my husbands business a useful tool here. At least it can be an option for some. He makes tracking equipment for dogs, birds, researchers and biologists. There have been dogs found underground because they had their trackers on. We've got customers that have told the most amazing stories of getting their animals back. Could some of you give me some feedback to what you think of this? Just wondering how you all feel about it. These stories break my heart and everytime I read one I think if only they had a tracker. |

I am assuming it would be a GPS-type thing inserted under the skin so it couldn't be removed by a thief. I hear there are tracker watches available for children which I think are great unless the watch is removed. Think of all the lost puppies that would come home-Pinky, Yoshi, Reese. |

As for this little dog,I only hope someone finds this little furbaby and returns it to its owner.I pray it isn't being hurt in anyway.I wish we didn't live in a world that is so evil. |
