tongue out 3 Attachment(s) My yorkie girl always has her tongue stuck out.. mostly when shes asleep. She has all of her teeth. Does anyone else's yorkie do this and why do they stick it out all the time? |
I'm not sure, but my recently rescued Yorkie (see thread "Yorkie or Silky" does this as well. And he's only about 8-10 months old and his teeth look fine. |
Sully doesn't do this.....but I've noticed that many do, in pictures on here. I've wondered the same question! But I do love the tongue, she's soooo adorable! |
That last picture is so cute! Thor does this all the time. I think it's really cute, and I feel like when he does it he is just very content with life! |
lol I figured she'd grow out of it, but she never did.. Benji has never done this. She has a really long tongue too though, maybe thats why. |

Molly would stick her tongue out her whole life. It was funny though, because when she had a really active day or whatever, her tongue would stick out more and more according to how tired she was. She was the cutest!! I love the tongue thing, I wouldn't have yorkies be any other way! |

If their tongue is sticking out slightly, it could be because of an overbite. An overbite is a condition where the top teeth are far too forward compared to the position of the lower teeth, thereby allowing a gap...for the tongue to stick out. http://www.tucsoncitizen.com/index.p...5e1_dog_braces IMO, when their tongue hangs out a little, that is a sign of an overbite. When their tongue hangs out a lot, that is just because they are happy or trying to cool down. |

I love the theories about the tongues out . Mine are doing this almost all the time and it is only funny to see . Sometimes , they stick out their tongues at the judges in dogshows . |

Dudley does this when he is being cute and wants us to do something for him. He will stand on my chest, look me in the eyes, lick my nose and stick out his tongue. It works every time!! |

tongue i was told it was a characteristic of Yorkies. I had a pom who did it but when you looked at her teeth she had a terrible overbite. i checked my yorkies teeth and it doesnt seem as though she has an overbite at all. |
I don't think Chloe has an overbite either.. but its so cute.. it cracks us up. |
