"He doesnt look like a yorkie"... UGH We live in a sweet little community full of animals. And all my neighbors know my love of animals, and know Macy by name! I was excited, and let the lady upstairs know we were getting another yorkie. Well, Thom Macy and I were chilling on our patio, and she sticks her head over and says, "oh you didnt get another yorkie??" I say hes a biewer. She says "hes big, and is the wrong color". I tried to tell her what he was, but she insisted Hes some sort of another dog. She knows i love my dogs to death, i just dont get the comments... Thanks for letting me vent! |
Ignorance is bliss. Let the neighbor think what they want. You know the truth. |
Bah, who cares what she says anyways :p Thom's da BOMB! |
She was asking me, before i even brought him home if i was going to breed them... Because she wants one. I was like... no! Then today she tells me, the dog she just adopted, shes taking back to the pound because its overwhelming her cat. -sigh- people. I keep scratching my head thinking, you dont know what my dogs are, want me to breed them for YOU, and give one to YOU, when your shoving your poor dog back in the pound. |
I have never understood that comment? |
People are something else. |
Some people are just crazy! |
Wow-alot of nerve she has! Gotta love ingnorance. Ugh is right!! |
I gave up I've officially given up on the rude people who tell me Sully isn't a Yorkie cause he "too big". I'm now telling people he's a miniature pit bull and was rescued from a pit bull fight club for beating up all the other dogs. It pretty much leaves them speechless.:D:D:D |

Haha, i love it! I still cant believe she asked if i was going to breed, and expect to get one AFTER making fun of my dog AND telling me shes giving her dog back to the pound! I must have crazy written on my forehead or something! |
Wow, I just don't understand some people! |
She's probably just jealous - I'd be jealous if my neighbour had a Biewer:D I bet Thom's gorgeous! xxx xxx |
:thumbup: #3 POST !!!! Ditto...Keep the hose next to the fence . The next time your neighbor dares show his face ...We'll you know the rest...hehehehe:D |
1 Attachment(s) I get the, "He doesn't look like a Yorkie." all the time with Boo. He's 10 lbs of solid love. They expect all Yorkies to look like the dogs they've seen in magazines or on tv. I've wanted to reply to the women, "You don't look like Cindy Crawford." Since that's what we see in magazines of what "women" are suppose to look like, right? But I'm pretty sure they wouldn't be able to figure it out and let's face it, if you have to explain the comeback-it isn't worth your time to say it. Attachment 271559 |
I completely understand your frustration, when I first got Ethan someone insisted that he was mixed with something because his hair was kind of fuzzy, I was upset bescuse this is my first furbaby and I did alot of research before getting Ethan (it didn't change my feelings for him), but she was wrong and wouldn't listen so was like what the hell ever; and continued our afternoon walk, I love my furbaby and didn't feel much like beating a dead horse that day! Every yorkie is not a mirror image of each other Ethan isn't going to look like every other yorkie walking down the street, just like people! :woof: |
He doesn't look like a yorkie...because he's not. ;) |
She thought he was a snauzer wiener dog mix. haha. It doesnt bother me so much that she wouldnt listen to what kind of dog he is, it was that she wanted PUPPIES... |

Not sticking up for the lady as she doesn't sound like a prize but you will probably encounter many people who do not know what little Thom is other than a delightful little fellow. Just take the opportunity to nicely educate them. |

I didnt tell her he was a yorkie, i told her he was a biewer. :) I tried to explain, but then she came up with her "Schnauzer wiener dog mix" so i kinda gave up. hehe! I was still surprized when she asked if i was going to breed them... My feelings arent "hurt" over the confusion on what kind of dog he is. Its just annoying. When she came home with her pound dog (that shes now giving back to the pound) i didnt make comments to her on how the dog was an odd mix, or looked wierd... :) |
Biewers are for special people; obviously your neighbor has no clue. Enjoy Thor and continue to try and educate everyone about your Biewer baby. |

It was funny because we were intending on getting another yorkie, and that was the first thing that popped out of her mouth. I tried to explain, and all she seems to care about is if im gonna breed them. She even knocked on my door today, asking me if i was SURE i wasnt going to breed them. |
Arent' you glad you know more than her? lol |

When she came over earlier asking if we had changed our minds about breeding, my husband spouted off "Do you know anything about these dogs, or how much they cost!? Why would she breed them when Thom is twice her size". I almost FAINTED. The lady has 3 kids under 3, and just wants something cute. No way. Not from me, those kids are vicious! :thumbdown |
Snicks is 10 pounds and on the lean side. Sometimes people say "that's the biggest yorkie I have ever seen." and I always ask "how many yorkies have you seen?". Some poeple ask if he is a teacup and I say "no, he a crock pot yorkie" and they will say they never knew there was crock pot yorkie and if I went to a crok pot yorkie breeder. |

Crock pot breeder. hahaha. I love it! Im going to try that one! :D |
