Help, Jemma has a underbite. I just noticed it. She is a little over 4 months old now. It is slight. I can fit a finger nail between the teeth. Will it become more pronounced? Can it stay just slight the way it is and not get worse? I just want to make sure it won't get worse where she could have trouble eating. She has no problem eating now. Actually, I think it is called a undershot??? Just a worried mama |

Jaws can grow at different times. Bottom tend to grow faster then the top. But even if she has a slight underbite it will not pose a health risk or a problem with eating. It would be wise to have any puppy teeth removed as soon as the adult canines break through. |
i have owened yorkshire terriers for 20 years my advice if your dog is happy enjoy |
I'm sure that it'll be fine;) Unless you're looking to show her, it's not a big deal, really. She sure is CUTE:love: |
If she is small - this could be reason why the underbite. Be glad it is an underbite than an overbite. Many times underbites will correct themselves as the dog grows. Your vet can check her jaw alignment and let you know what they think. I had a pup once with an underbite when about 5 months and by the time she was 8 months she had a great scissor bite. So do not worry yet. |
