Gucci is so CUTE! He looks like he just threw a toupee on! I can't believe how much he's grown. I love my teapots...& if someone is crass enough to say something about their size I just tell them this "Actually they are the standard size yorkies were when they were ratters...before people bred them down to the little guys you see now". It's no big deal, non-yorkie people don't know. |

The other day I was walking Astra and Lucy on a double leash and these 2 ladies stop and when crazy about how cute Astra was.:D Than they start putting Lucy down!! What is WRONG with this one they ask me! Why is her nose so long and why does she have a tail? And then worst comment EVER: you should of got 2 that look like this one. I that point I ALMOST told them :you know your not that pretty either . But I instead I just walk away ragging. Yes Astra is reg. with tones of champion bloodline, Yes Lucy was my first yorkie and she's far from a show dog, But she is the wiseness of my 5 yorkies and I love her. You will always be running into IDIOT and the best thing to do is to accept that those people are just dumb and that you should be sorry for THEM. ;) |

Most of the rude comments are made from ignorance, or jealousy. Then there are those who are truly arrogant and rude. Ignorant people (meaning uneducated) are worth my time and effort. Jealous people just lay themselves out for me to "outdo" them :D (sorry it's human nature) and the arrogant and rude ones aren't worth the time and effort to acknowledge. You love your babies, they are beautiful, nothing else matters. |
As the proud owner of a 14lb-er..i know that size doesnt matter! :D |

It seems that almost every other thread is about size...I wonder why people are so hung up on it:confused: I mean, I admit that I myself wanted a smaller yorkie but I don't dislike the larger ones..a lady just asked me the other day if Pixie was a 'Toy', I had to stop myself from being a little sarcastic (no, she doesn't have an on/off switch or remote control)..so i just politely replied that she's just a smaller yorkie. |
I love my large Yorkie!!! I inherited him when my mother passed away last year, she had three smaller ones and I chose the large one because of his great personality and I have a huge Golden Ret. and was afraid the little ones would get hurt. "Junior" is a large yorkie about 13lbs (should be 18lbs), his parents were about 4lbs ea. and his littermate is only 3lbs!! He was a awsome addition to our family, and even though his brother weighs almost 100lbs more than him..he runs the house!! He is currently recovering from a disease diagnosed by Purdue University as Lymphagiectasia and will hopefully reach his 18lbs soon!! Yes, be proud of your baby...don't let other people get to you. Whoever said these things to you are not really a true dog lover!! |
So many times, people speak before they think. Wouldn't it be nice if humans were as accepting as dogs. My husband thinks our JoJo has no imperfections. He doesn't even like for me to refer "lovingly" to JoJo's long legs. He is the apple of his daddy's eye. Other people will say he has long legs and I will just smile and say, yes, he does. I told my daughter I think we have a 4 lb Great Dane (just kidding). To us, he is the most beautiful Yorkie we could ever have and that's what really matters. |
Yes I agree I loveeee all yorkies they are all cute no matter what anyone says yorkies have the best personality |
My Yorkie's parents are both small dogs. Around 8 pounds each. Ally is about 5 pounds and her sister from her liter is a good 18 pounds, she is freaking huge! |
There is another thread on here that I was reading a week or two ago that was about this same topic. Some of the people were telling about some of their comebacks to the rudeness. Some of the comebacks were pretty funny. I need to make a list in preperation for the rude ones when I'm out 'n about with her. I've thought of a few of my own, but need to jot them down as I'm beginning to forget them already. Our little Roxy is just 5 mo old. I've been sick for the past 6 weeks, so we are way behind on socialization, but I'm sure these kind of questions/remarks will be coming my way too. I'd like to be prepared. It will be more fun if I can put these people in their place & walk away with a smile on my face instead of getting upset. I will NOT allow them to ruin my day & time with Roxy. Life is too short! Roxy is our first little dog. DH is an avid 'big dog' guy always won out. In his book, little dogs have always been incredibly worthless. We haven't had a dog in a few years, but found ourselves missing one. This time I put my foot down. No more big dogs in the house. NONE... ever again! Been there done that too many times. He didn't know I've been wanting a yorkie for 3 years, but would always be able to talk myself out of it. I've had her named for 2 years. Finally around the holidays, I couldn't talk myself out of it anymore & seriously started looking even though I promised myself I'd never get one in the winter. But here we are. She is an absolute doll & so funny! And guess who really really loves her? DH of course. They are buddies. : ) But how can you resist that face??? Don't get angry with the idiots, get clever & one up them! Enjoy the rest of your day with a smile! |

Well Ill be! I would have said "Well one of you ladies is normal and the other is butt ugly. Want to sit and wonder which is which?" Yorkies are like potatoe chips (no not just that you cant have just one) in the fact that the big ones and the small crumbs in the bottom of the bag...ALL taste just as yummy :) YORKIES I could just eat'em all up :D lol My aunt has a larger Yorkie and she had a little shirt made for him that says "Size DOES matter & Bigger IS Better" haha because of all the comments she would get about how BIG he was and how she must have gotten him cheap due to his "ABNORMAL" size. She tell's them "Yorkie's are like Caviar. I paid by the oz :)" My little Miley, she is charting 4 lbs which is what her parents are but if she was 2o lbs or 2 lbs I wouldn't trade her for any other dog in the world... Some people can just be SOOO rude. God made each little Yorkie for a reason. Some small, some tall but all have a purpose :aimeeyork |
