AKC Papers I just got Taylors papers today.:) On the bottom is says if there is a date after the sire or dam's name and number they have been issued a Stud Book Registry and this is the date they have been published. Do any of you know what this means? Both the Sire and Dam have dates after their name. Thanks Tami <>< |
That's the volume of the stud book that their name and registration papers are in. I used to show Chinese Shar-Pei and that is how it was explained to me!! Hope that this helps...:) |

The AKC Stud Book is basically the whole point behind the AKC - it's a list of all the dogs in each breed that are registered and have had a litter - the AKC publishes one each month with all of the first-time Sires and Dams (basically, the date that is listed is when the dog was listed in the Stud Book, which is usually the first stud book publishing after the Sire / Dam's first registered litter). The Stud Book lists the name of the dog, its date of birth, sex, AKC registration number, and color. |
I always wondered what that meant too. Learn something new every day. Thanks |
Thank You ! I noticed you have a dog named Littlebit, when I was growing up we had a toy poodle named Tidbit, his mother was Littlebit and his sister was Littleone. I wish I had thought of that when I was naming Taylor. Thanks Again, Tami <>< |
