Taking baby for walks.. I don't get my little guy until Sunday and I was wondering about vaccinations and walking him outside. I was told to not take him for walks until his 3rd set of shots when he's 16 weeks old. That seems like a looong time to wait to not be able to walk him. Is this true?? |
Yes this is very true!!! There are all kinds of things a little one can catch. Parvo is the number one, it speads so fast and kills even faster. Dogs are like kids the time will go by faster than you think. If you need more info look up Parvo and you will want to wait. Hope this helps. |
Ya. You have to wait after the 3rd shot. You can take the puppy to your backyard but not for walk or to a park before that. |
Thanks a lot Mickey3696! I just looked up Parvo and you can be sure I will NOT be taking my little guy out for walks before his last sets of shots!!! |

outing. I guess that it is ok if we keep the baby in a bag or in the arms when going outside, I did that with mine. The baby can enjoy the outdoor sunshine when outing even staying in a bag or just holding in the arms. |

Yes, we were advised to keep them off the ground before their shots. Since we were travelling with Maggie, the vet said unless we know the area or are in our own yard, do not let her down. I know that there are no guarantees in our own yard, but it is a better place than someone unknown. |

My vet doesn't want us taking Harley out until he has had his 4th set of shots, it is hard to keep him at home but I would rather be safe. He is scheduled for his final set on Monday. |

oh yes! very very true! techniquelly you should keep your baby away from pet stores, stores, parks, walks, and other animals, unless you know the dogs history, but i would wait till all vaccines have been given...their immune systems need to bulid up! |
