Do you think it is a sign of stress? A sign of boredom? A sign of some other 'condition'? I ask for a few reasons: 1. I am a relatively new dog person, I have always had cats and even though we have had Wilbur fr almost 1 year I am still learning and 2. Wilbur has been sick since birth, He has a bowel disease which he takes daily meds for. This has been very hard for me in learning to distinguish between normal dog / puppy behavior and what is the result / symptom of his disease and the medicines he takes for it. Everything he does goes under the microscope and this licking thing seems endless. He will lick for almost an hour.... do your pups do it for this long too? Thank you! |
Chuck is almost 7 mo old and has always been a big licker:D I don't mind this because he only does it when he's happy or excited. He doesn't lick himself or the furniture but once he gets a hold of my hand there is no stoping him:animal36 |
Thank you for sharing your pups licking stories. It makes me feel better knowing Wilbur's behavior is normal doggy behavior. He has so many special needs that I call everything in to question now..... pretty soon I will be wondering about his barking and wether or not it is normal!:D:D |
SophieKate is the queen of lickers in fact she has a T-Shirt that says "I can't control my licker". It doesn't bother me as much anymore because she will stop when told to do so. The good thing is |
