I may need your help on this one. Ok so My name is Deborah and i have what i thought to be a pure-bred lovely Yorkie. WELL! When I first layed eyes on our baby there was nothing that could stop me from getting him, He was beautiful. We got him from a couple that was selling them at the local flea market and he looked miserable. He didnt come with papers of any kind and i didnt care at the time. We were told (by the couple) that he was a Yorkie and he was 8 weeks at the time. I thought he looked kinda big but i've never dealt with dogs in my lifetime, ive always been the one to have a gazillion cats. So i didnt think anything of it. And at that time i didnt care, i wanted this precious little pup. So now that he is getting bigger we've been told on several occasions that they believe he is a Yorkie-poo... and that he is def not 13 weeks. which he is big for what we were told.... If you could ,give me your opinion on my little Miloh. Nothing will change how we feel about him, he will always be our baby, i would just really like to be at ease with what he actually is and what age you think he may be, any opinions are welcome. Thanks:D |
Personally, he looks like a Yorkie. But he looks A LOT similar to Baxter, and Baxter is a Morkie. (about 3/4 Yorkie and 1/4 Maltese) Check out some of my pics... maybe Miloh is a Morkie? I don't know. I'm sure we'll get some other's opinions. :):) |
Forgot to give pics lol 4 Attachment(s) The first couple are from the day we got him, he looked so sad and not taken care of :( |
I think he does look like a yorkie mix. |
Looks like a Yorkie to me! What a cutie pie he is!!!:) |
Wow he does look alot like Baxter. Hmmm, Maybe Morkie. We'll see. And thank you for posting;) |
Whats this i hear of Yorkies ears always being erect? One woman said that he looked like a Yorkie-poo because his ears constantly layed. I've trimmed the hair on his ears, not too much though. |

He sure looks like a full yorkie to me! Not all yorkies have erect ears, but his look as if they are trying to stand. If you shave some of the hair off his ears, that would help so they wouldn't be weighted down. You can also tape the ears and that sometimes helps. He is adorable! I'm so glad he has you! |

wow i didnt think id get this many replies lol, I'm so glad to hear that people think he is pure yorkie, that makes me feel so good to hear that. He's a sweetie i wouldnt care if he was mixed just wanted to see what others thought he was. Thanks so much for posting. I was thinking about trying to shave them but im so nervous to do it, I dont wanna hurt him. I'm a big baby when it comes to that stuff, Is it hard to do and what areas do you shave?! |
I just shave the top 1/3 of Missy's ears on the front and back. I bought a little Wahl Moustache and Beard trimmer for 15 bucks. It works well. Your Miloh is gorgeous! When I first saw his pics I thought "pure Yorkie", but then as I looked more I started to think maybe he was mixed with something else. I'm really on the fence about it. But I can sure tell why you couldn't leave him at that flea market, he is toooooooo C*U*T*E! :) |

I think he looks like a yorkie too. My Curly's ears don't stand up, they look like they might try sometimes but it's iffy. Also, your lil guys fur looks a bit curly but my girls is too and I know for sure she's pure yorkie. Either way, he's a doll baby! Oh, and why don't you think he's 13 weeks? I think he well could be. |
Not sure whether Miloh is 100% yorkie or not - but he's definitely 100% cute!:D Congratulations on your new furbaby xxx xx |
He may or may not be full yorkie but he sure is cute! |
I think he looks like a yorkie but he could be a yorkiepoo they sometimes look so similar |
100% Yorkie to me...He is a cutie....Love his furry face.... |
100% cute!! He looks all Yorkie to me. |
My 'professional' opinion??? Pure breed CUTE!!!! We have 3 'kids' & they all have floppy ears. As for size, we have Clarence (my avatar) 12yo, 6.5#, Keegan 7yo, 12# & Miss Sophie 10months 8#. |
I looked at all of Miloh's pictures in your album...........he looks yorkie to me, just on the bigger side. He is also VERY cute! How old is he right now and how much does he weigh? At 13 weeks you could double his weight now and get an approximation of what he MIGHT weigh as an adult. You have a chance (up until 6 months of age - maybe) to get his ears to stand..........if you want. They sure look cute floppy too.:) To try and get them to stand you will need to keep them shaved to keep the weight of the hair off. Just trimming them a bit will probably not do it. Being a bigger yorkie, you might even have to tape them after they are shaved. I used masking tape; I hear the blue painters tape works well too & comes off easy. You leave the tape on for about 2-3 days then take it off for a day or so and repeat until they remain standing. A puppy teething can cause ears to flop down also. I've got 3 yorkies; my first has floppy ears. That is only because I knew nothing when I bought him and didn't probably didn't even know about ears supposed to be up. So I never taped them. No matter, I love him anyway! Miloh is adorable! Congratulations on your new family member & welcome to Yorkie Talk. |

Its not that i dont exactly, but we went to a womans house that breeds Yorkies and she kept saying how he looked alot bigger than we were told and she was also one of them that said he didnt look pureBred. Its not that i believe her or anything im just taking what she said into consideration considering this is the first Yorkie i've had, we put Miloh up to her adult yorkies and omg he was huge lol, oh well hes my chubby bubby what can i say, i love him. lol. Anyways thanks for your opinion!!!:D |

Thanks for all your info, its well needed!!!! Yeah his ears are very cute floppy i just dont want him to be uncomfortable, would his ears being down bother him? He doesnt seem like it, i just want to be sure, if it isnt going to bother him i dont see the need to fix it. and thanks for the welcome!! :D |
He looks all yorkie to me too. It does not bother them to have their ears down if you like them down then he will be fine. He looks so cute |
I'm no expert on this. They seem to change so much as they grow. My brother has 2 Yorkie-poo's. One is pure white and one is pretty much all black with a little tan. The all white one ended up being about 10 lbs. and the other is his half brother (same mom) and he's about 8 lbs. The black one looks nothing to me like when he was a puppy. But I love them both and they are the sweetest little boys. Your puppy is adorable and I am so touched that you love him and are so proud of him. That's unconditional love at it's best!! |
Ask your vet about the age. They can get a good estimate by looking at their teeth and other things. As far as pure-bred? I think if he had a sterling pedigree they would not be selling him at a flea market without papers. There was probably a mix along the line somewhere. But he definately looks mostly yorkie, so I would just get him neutered when he hits the right age and be happy you rescued a little cutie in need of a good home. I really love his expressions in the later pics. |
I think that is a yorkie!! Whatever he is hes Very cute!! And about the whole ear thing.. when i first got bella no one believed she was a yorkie because of her ears, but i realized i had to get her ears tipped to have her look like an actual yorkie. At first her ears were big and floppy making her not really look like her breed. I wouldnt worry to much if i was you... |
Thanks SOOO much to everyone for their comments, i really appreciate it!!:D:D:D |
