Singleton's...Need info =) My Miley is a singleton. My question is how many of you own singletons and did they end up being smaller/larger or was there any difference in adult weight? Also did they adjust well being as though they didnt have littermates to run and play with? Miley is 7 weeks old and loves to bark, growl and play. She attemps to do so with her mom but mom isnt so playful as far as that goes. My 1 yr old 3 lb Chihuahua Hannah plays with her but can be a little rough at times. Hannah being a Chihuahua wants to POUNCE on things. So she will do a "FLY BY" and like try to roll Miley and I get on to her about it and she just takes off and hides haha. Miley can hold her own though. She thinks she is a big dog and will go find Hannah and bark and growl at her wanting to play. I just feel sad that she hasnt anybody her own size that she can play with during this crucial learning stage. I dont worry she wont be socialized because she has Hannah to grow up with but I worry she wont get the skills etc other puppies in litters get... am I making any sense? |

4 Attachment(s) I was just curious if because she got all of mothers milk AND supplemental feedings from me that she would be larger as an adult etc. I guess when a dog has more puppies they tend to be smaller and less larger?? Maybe that isnt right just guessing. As far as being alone she has Hannah and as you can see in these pics they DO love each other. Just Hannah is a bit rough with her and I have to say "AAANNNNTTT" and Hannah will stop and be more gentle. Miley loves Hannah and whines if she isnt with her so I know they will be best buds. Just was worried since she is at that playful age when siblings usually play and rough house etc. Thanks for the info :) Greatly appreciated. |
oh my gosh, they are soooo adorable together!! My parents have 2 chihuahuas.. a long hair and a short hair. Tobie loves to go over there for play dates. |
2 Attachment(s) I loved reading this thread...Our grandaughter has a beautiful blue chi who weighs almost 6lbs and we have our little 2 and a half pound laddy. We were going out of town for a week and were so worried about leaving him. Our other daughter has a 1 year old silky so we tried there first but petey wanted nothing to do with Laddy lol so it was off down the street To little Sam the chi's house and those boys got along so great. It was adorable watching them run and play and sad watching Sam pout and Laddy cry when we had to bring him home. I think chi's make great company for yorkies and visa versa.First picture of Laddy second of Sam. |
You babies are soooo cute! Actually, i didn't know what you meant by singleton haha until i started reading. My princess has had two litters. Her first litter, she only had one pup. I couldnt part with him, so i guess i have a singleton. Yes he did get a little bigger than the ones in her second litter, but its just that he has longer legs but cute as a button. He did just fine without litter mates. Although i do have him a little spoiled since he was the first one that my princess had. I kept one from her second litter also, thats how i ended up with 4 yorkies. Mom, Dad and two babies haha and wouldnt take the world for any of them. They are precious! No more babies for princess! or else i will have a house full :D |
