So you would correct your wrong, by commiting another wrong? Thats insane! Keeping things within the context of this thread: You break the rules by bringing a Pitbull into a neighborhood that doesn't allow it. A neighbor holds you accountable to that rule by turning you in to the HOA. So your going to "assume" which neighbor it was and make them "Pay for it"? The last sentence you typed is one you should have considered before you ignored the rules "so one is to always think there are CONSEQUNCES TO EVERY ACTION." I'm sorry, but retaliating after being held to the same rules as everyone else is juvenile and irresponsible, IMO. Not trying to get personal here...I share your opinion of the Pit breed...but I found your last statement to be over the top. |

This is a personal matter for me because of what is going on with one of the people in my subdivision. I truly understand what the OP is going through. Have a wonderful day, and you are welcome. |
I knew this man that had a Rottie that was so very gentle with everyone.........just a big old baby..........then one day a little girl went over to pet him, and he snapped and killed the little girl. No matter how sorry everyone was......no words made a difference........the little girl was gone forever. These BIG dogs which are gentle pets can at any time turn and because of their massive size they can kill. Therefore, it falls on the owners to accept the responsibility to protect others (people/pets etc.) from harm/death by fencing/etc. appropriately. Yes, a small dog can bite, all dogs can bite..........however, I have yet to hear "A yorkie just mauled a person to death" or "A yorkie just killed a Rottie" and I doubt that you ever will. |

I thought I read on this thread that the HOA had a "no pitt" rule. Doesn't that say it all? |
Maybe you can put up a large wood fence on that side of your yard. Hope things work out for you. |
however, I have yet to hear "A yorkie just mauled a person to death" or "A yorkie just killed a Rottie" and I doubt that you ever will. and your right, and I made that point in both of my post. That a little dog wouldnt kill any one, but they can bite and harm someone. The point that I was trying to make that All dogs can bite and have the potential to be dangerous. I wasnt trying to agrue that pits (or whatever) cant be or arent dangerous. "This is a personal matter for me because of what is going on with one of the people in my subdivision." I understand that. If they arent suppose to be there, then you and the OP as home owners in a community that pits arent allowed have that right to make it known that they are there. I apologize if I turned this into a debate, I didnt want that. I was just stating my opioion on the matter. :) As a forum with a huge amount of people we of course arent all going to agree. So much for not posting again.. eh?? Have a good evening everyone!! :) |
WE HAVE A PIT THATS 85LBS A YORKIE THATS 3LBS AND ONE THATS7LBS AND A PEKENGESE THATS 12LBS. THEY ALL GET ALONG REALLY WELL. OUR PEKE. IS OUR MEANEST HE RUNS THE HOUSE. NOW IN REALITY IF YOU LOOK MOST ATTACKS THAT ARE CLARIFIED AS A PIT ATTACKS ARE WRONGLY IDENTIFIED. GO TO THIS WEBSITE Pet Pitbull - Find the Pit Bull AND SEE IF YOU GUYS CAN PICK OUT THE REAL PIT. THEN MAYBE YOU GUYS WILL UNDERSTAND THAT THEIR IS ALOT OF MISTAKEN IDENTIDY. I KNOW THERE IS SOME MEAN PIT OUT THERE BUT BEING AFRAID OF ONE JUST CAUSE ITS A PIT SEEMS UNFAIR TO ME. THE WAY THAT I TOOK IT WAS HER DOGS WENT BARKING AT HIM FIRST AND IT IS ANY DOGS NORMAL RESPONSE TO BARK BACK RIGHT? GIVE YOUR NEIGHORS DOG A CHANCE... |
I can relate to your feelings very well. I was so happy when my next door neighbor moved with his rescue Pit Bull. That dog was mean, having no training but my neighbor saved him from being put down however the rest of us lived in fear. This dog only came out to go to the bathroom that's how bad he was. The neighbor was very nice and knew his dog was bad. They bought a house with a yard in hopes the dog could burn off some energy since it was house bound due to aggression and Buddy challenged him every chance he got only to my dismay. I tried never to go out the same time but there were times we were out at the sametime which was a nightmare. One day the pit broke his leash and my neighbor was walking her two Norfolk terrier's. He went right after them and she drug them by their leashes and threw them up on a car! His owner came running after him but the owner of the terrier's was tramatized and so were her dogs. He didn't get them but it was close. I was so happy when he closed on his house and moved. Two weeks later the new neighbors moved in and guess what dog they have? Another Pit Bull and this one is almost as nasty. Never walked only out to pee. Nice people but nasty dog. IMO this breed should have to live in a private home with a yard and not in a development where other's have to be afraid to walk their children and pet's for fear of walking into this kind of dog. If your in a private home I feel for you. Living next door to a dangerous dog must be so stressfull. I wish my development would bann this breed from living there. I know some counties won't allow them to live in them at all. It's sad really but the breed is known to be bad because it's been proven over and over again that they can kill and do time after time. Their size and muscular build is enough to scare you knowing the damage they can do. If it's not your personal dog a Pit lover has to realize the fear this breed put's into someone who does not own one and should realize we don't want to feel this way but the breed has proven themselves a very dangerous one and people have a reason to feel the way they do. |
Holy crap! I knew this was going to be a touchy subject but geeze. 54 responses! Okay, there are definitely some very spirited people on this formum. I totally respect everyones opinions. Like I said before we're all entitled. I do have to say whoever assumed I was going to "snitch" cracked me up. I think all I said was I checked the city codes not that I was picking up the phone to call him in. Also I never once said that I thought the owner didn't love his dog. We all know what assuming does people.... In the famous words of Rodney King: "Can't we all just get along?" |
Glad you got a laugh out of it.. I am entitled to an opinion just like everyone else.. and If I remember correctly I was commenting on different posts in 1 reply ;). Like said before Hope it works out for ya! Quote:

Usually when there is a Pit Bull attack on a person, the dog is captured by law officials who then identify the bred of the dog. When you see on the news that there was a Pit attack...it was DEFINATELYa Pit Bull! (I can't believe that someone mistook a Jack Russel for a Pit! Yea, I take it back...:rolleyes:I believe it)! I don't take chances with my famly's safety. |
Just keep a close eye on your baby. My dad had a pitbull and when he took ill we decided it would be best to re-home him. No one else could handle him and my mom was scared of him. We waited until after he passed away this month though so he wouldn't know. I never let my yorkies around the pitbull though. Now my mom bought us two other yorkies (supposed to be my present) but she said since we all live together now that they are hers for cuddling and mine for cleaning:confused: |
I understand what you mean I have a 3lb yorkie but his bestfriend is a pit bull. When my BF and I moved in togehther he brought his Blue pit bull and i was NOT happy! not at all but they love eachother and cant go with out eachother...Steel (the pitt) is still a puppy but a big boy hes about 55lbs and Romey is only 3lbs and believe it or not Romey is the bully!!!!!! Romey acts more like he is a 55lbs and Steel in the 3lbs...Believe me I feared him moving with us but Steel is soooo lovable! |
Last night on the news, a little boy that was 2 years old was attacked and killed by a pitbull, they owner of the pitbull will face charges but I also think that parents should face charges as well. They said that the little boy was found dead in the backyard. I want to know where the little boy's parents where and why a 2 year old would be allowed outside without a parent present. This is just a sad situation all the way around. |
