I got My little boy ---- But (very long) 1 Attachment(s) Well We found a very cute and small but not to small 4 lbs boy !! He is 14 wks old and We have named Him Bailee or {Bailey} When We went to see Him the Breeder Brought Him outside and I thought it was because She had Her little grand kids over . She acted like She didnt want Us in Her home ? Well We check out His mommy and daddy and I didn't see any fleas on any of Them .I check out teeth and gums skin and coat.He is all up to date on His shots ( seen the vet papers on shots )I put Him down to watch Him play and because the Breeder lived so close to the E-way He was scarred of all the noise and Would just sit there and shake so I picked My little guy up and He kissed My whole face and I knew He was mine.We got are Bailee home and put Him down to check out Daisy and He was limping and would not put any weight on His right front foot.He was also crying when He would walk on it!So I called the breeder right away before She thought We hurt Him !! She says Bailee was fine and She didnt see Him limping,She ask Her kids and Grand kids if anything happened to Bailee while She was at Work and of course no ! So She then tells Me ooohhh,By the way Bailee is on antibiotics for something in His stool but She forgot to tell Us !!!!!!! She says She can't remember what it is but to go ahead and call Her vet in the morning and ask ! So I can't sleep of course worried over the poor baby and My Daisy too .I called the Vet She goes to and Mine the first thing in the morning and They both said Bailee has a Condias (Not sure of the spelling ) it is very contagious among Dogs !!! And the breeder knew this .Now She FORGOT to give Us any antibiotics to threat Him and the vet says it is very important to give Him this because He could get very sick and I spent are savings on buying a healthy pup.So know I have to wait 10 days to check and See if Daisy has caught it and if She will need to be threated and Bailee has to be rechecked to make sure it is gone (They check for it in the stool)Mean time to keep them apart !! To late for that,Daisy has been smelling His but for 24 hours now!! But I am now that I know ! I got hysterical and My vet said don't worry, how was You to know unless the breeder would have told You. I called the breeder and ask How She could have done this to Bailee and Us letting Him go Home with Us with a hurt leg and sick and forgot to tell Us !!!! I told Her She would pay for His x rays and vet bill or I wanted My money back.So she meet Me at the vet and the vet took xrays of His little legs and it is just bruished really bad and spranged So he must wear a cast for 7 days and then a re-check.The breeder was pissed because She had to pay 115 dollers for xrays, pain meds, cast. She says are You going to pay some.I say No of couse not.... She has never called to check on Him or anything and I believe Her kids or grand kids hurt Bailee and She knows it.I feel soo bad because I might have given something to Daisy and its all My fault.I should have checked it out first !! My Dh says it was meant to be because Bailee needed Us to save Him!He has never acted sick just the leg sprang bothers Him.But this condias is a perasite not a worm but something that attach's to the intestine's and cause's bad lose stools and vomiting.Bailee has never had loose stools or vomited but My vet says because He was on meds for 4 days already when We got Him that it was in His system long enough to stop the loose stools and vomiting but that We must watch Daisy really close because She only weights 3 lbs and if She gets loose stools and vomiting that it could be real bad for Her !!! I am soo worryed Ladies!!! What Have I done to My little Daisy,I feel soo guilty like I should have done more to make sure My baby didnt get sick from bringing in a strange pup .And poor Bailee,What kind of person could do this --- Is it all for money !! Any commits or ideas on what I can do are GREATLY APPRECIATED !! What would I do without You ladies :cry8: Here is a pic of Bailee and His poor leg Thanks,Tami P.s I called the breeder pretending to be a possiable buyer for Bailee's litter mates and She wanted Me to come out and look at the pups and still does not say they are sick ! And she knows it is CONTAGIOUS !! |
awwww the poor little pup and you poor thing. You must be worried sick. I firmly believe that things happen for a reason and you are met with challenges for a reason. I think you were meant to be Bailee's mommy. He will pull through with flying colors in no time and I will pray that Daisy is healthy and has not caught anything from him. CONGRATS ON THE PUP!!!! |
Oh wow - that breeder knew...I had a similar experience with Chanel - I think you mean Coccidia - that he has and it's very treatable and if you don't have other young puppies - everyone else should be ok. How sad that he got hurt but I Think he's in a GREAT home now and you can treat him and he should be fine with that little problem...I hope he's not limping due to anything else - that would worry me more than the Coccidia - I'm glad to hear at least she helped with the bills...some not so good breeders don't even answer calls once the puppy leaves their home.... GOOD LUCK and try not to worry too much - Some breeders are in it for love - others for money - it's really hard to tell when we fall in love and they're going out of their way to make us think they love their puppies. I really hope he's ok - and Congratulations on your new puppy - ps...Chanels breeder is STILL selling puppies and changed her contract to cover her butt for Coccidia - |
It is really hard to understand the lack of communication to you by this breeder. I am so sorry for you, your family and Bailey. It is a shame that she seemed to find it no big deal to place your puppy in danger or other pets. I hope that your vet supplies all the needed medical attention Bailey needs and he grows up to be strong and healthy. Luckily not all breeders act like this... Hugs to Bailey. :aimeeyork |
poor puppy and you,im so glad he has gone to you he sure will get well now, as for daisy if she does get poorly shes with the right mommy but im sure she will be fine wendy and rosie :rose: :yorkiesar |
Congrats on your new puppy!! i'm sorry to hear about the problems you had with the breeder! But at least now Bailey is in a loving home where people will take care of him! |
I can't believe some breeders! Man that relly makes me angry! I would be sure to post the breeders name and location and any other info to deter people from purchasing pups from them. As for your two babies - I will add them to my prayers. Like Nobella said, things happen for a reason and Bailee was meant to be yours. I believe that he will recover and Daisy will be ok too. Bless you all. |
How old is Daisy? If she's over 6 mos, then her immune system should be able to control any coccidia infections on its own. The incubation period is around 14 days (or so I've read) and Daisy *might* be susceptible because she was at the breeder's home. When we took Sophie to meet with my Daisy's breeder, she was sniffing around the kennel and she caught it too! :( I felt REALLY bad about taking her with us to look at puppies - live and learn. I hated that I bought a sick puppy into our home and felt really guilty about it. It also took me a little longer to bond with Daisy because she was so sick with coccidia! But they are both perfectly healthy now! |
I am so sorry for your pups , hope they'll be ok . Some so-called breeders don't even care about their pups but are extremely eager to receive the $$$$$$$$$ . It is a real shame |
My thoughts and prayers are for both your children to be healthy. Felt sad you had to go through this Keep us updated if you would And congrats on your baby! |
Thank God for YOU and your family saving Bailey. That breeder is despicable. Of course that heifer knew he was sick and had a hurt leg. She just wanted to get your money and get you out of there as fast as possible. You don't forget that you have a sick puppy that you're selling. Are you sure that she even gave Bailey his meds in the first place? I would sue her for the cost of treating Bailey and Daisy. If she doesn't pay, at least she'll have it on her credit and legal records. I would also report her to the AKC if Bailey is registered with them. Give Bailey and Daisy a kiss and hug from us. Daisy is protected by the blood of Jesus and she will not catch whatever ails Bailey. He'll be fine soon too. Bless you all! |
Thank goodness you have taken Bailey from that breeder. Is this breeder registered with the American Kennel Club? Is she selling these pups with papers or without? Depending on what size area you live in another way to stop her is to report her to all the vets in your area. I'm sure your little guy will come through this with flying colours and bring you many years of joy. |
I am so sorry to here all that you are going through. Will your love and care before you know it Bailey will be well. I would hate to think what would have happened to him if you hadn't got him. He looks so peacefull in his pic and a real cutie. |
I'm really sorry you had such a rough start with your new puppy. Hopefully, your other little one will be just fine. I found a lengthy article on coccidiosis and perhaps it will help you deal with it. Here's the link: http://webk.ask.com/redir?bpg=http%3...occidiosis.htm |
Poor puppy! I am glad he has you now to take care of him. |
Poor baby! But your didn't do anything wrong, it was that BREEDER!! You should let people know who it was! Or at least let people know where they are located and if anyone is interested in buying a dog from that area, they could PM you to find out if its the breeder that you used.. Good luck with Bailee and Daisy!! |
:luvu: Thanks for all the caring replys You Ladies really are the Best !! :luvu: Quote:
Daisy is almost 4 mths old now ! I didn't take Her to the breeder's house it wasn't until after I came home with Bailee that Daisy got to meet Him (Thank God ) because I was going to take Her and thought better of it before I left ! Thanks again,Tami |
I am so sorry you are going through this. I agree with what Villette said. I believe that things happen for a reason ... your baby boy is beautiful and if I were you I would just love him, nurse him back to health and never look back! Anything you might try to do in retaliation to that sorry breeder will probably be useless and you would just expend time, energy and money that you could focus on your Yorkie babies!! Please keep us updated on little Bailee and Daisey and don't blame yourself for something that's certainly not your fault!! Give them sweet puppy kisses from Toto! ;) |
Whooooaaaaaaa..... I feel for your and your babies Daisy and Bailey but I am really glad that you have him now and are doing all you can to get this little one back into good health. Your Daisy is going to be fine too.....They sure are lucky to have you for their MOMMIE!!!!! |
Your sweet baby boy will feel better soon. He's so lucky to have found a good, caring mama like you. My heart breaks when I look at his sweet little leg in that cast. :'( |
I am so sorry you had such a bad experience. There is no excuse for the way this breeder handled the matter. Unfortunately, coccidia is a common puppy disease and you are lucky you called her about the leg and she told you about the coccidia so you could finish his course of treatment. A lesson to be learned from this is to always speak to the vet that examined the puppy, treated it and gave it a good bill of health (or not) before the purchase. I hope Bailey is better soon. I doubt Daisy will get it because she is older and it sounds like it was almost out of the baby boys' system when you brought him home. |
I am so sorry that happened to you and your babies. It's not your fault though. She definitely should have told you what was going on. At least now he is with someone who will watch over him. Good luck! |
Im so sorry that this breeder handle this situation so bad. Im just glad that Little Bailey have found you to care for him, poor little guy. The breeder knew he had coccidia and forgot to tell you. I cant believe that, she just wanted her money and lie to you. Coccidia is treatable so hopefully he will be ok. Also Daisy hopefully will be fine. Just watch her if you see any loose stool take her to the vet ASAP. Im concern with his leg, I really hope it heal well. That is something else that the breeder lied about. Good luck and congrat on your new puppy. |
Congratulations on your new baby- he is adorable. Thank goodness you are responsible and came into his life to make him well. I want to smack your breeder after that story. Good for you for calling as a potential buyer to out her. Did you tell her who you were after she lied? How did you hear about this woman? Can you report her to AKC? Better business bureau? You should be able to do something- she's an awful person. Olivia sends lots of "get well soon" puppy kisses! |
Poor you, poor Bailey, and poor Daisy! I'm really sorry to hear about this terrible ordeal! I know it is heart breaking for you and also so scary! It's really so sad that people will put others in such jeopardy to make a quick buck. Lucky you seem to be a wonderful, loving, and dedicated mommy, and that's just what Mr. Bailey needs in his life. I think you did the right thing to make her pay, and I would make her pay for everything else that has to do with his leg, and his parasite! It's just so sad that some breeders do this type of thing, and although it may just be a few people scamming others, and treating their poor helpless puppies badly and then trying to dell them for an arm and a leg claiming they are in the best of shape, it really makes people skeptical of everyone when buying dogs ( I know that was wordy, but I hope it makes sense!) I believe that you should put her name out there to warm others of her deceit and maltreatment of the puppies. She but Bailey's life in danger, as well as Daisy's life by lying to you...and also any other family's dogs, etc. So if you put her name out there you could help another family from being hurt, and stop this woman from making money off these poor puppies. On a happier note, congrats on your new little guy! I wish him the best recovery, and I hope Daisy stays well! You're a wonderful momma, and as everyone keeps saying, I'm sure it was meant to be. Good luck! Hannah |

Thank You for the sweet reply.I wanted to answer Your questions. first,I wish I could smack Her too but back to the real world *LOL* I never did let on who I was and maybe I should have had a confrontation with Her but I think that would just upset Me more and why lower Myself to her level,Don't You agree ? I had been watching are local news paper classifieds and I had been going and looking at different Yorkies for a few weeks and none compared to Bailee.Maybe that was My fault I didn't do My homework first but I did read about what to look for when getting a new pup and it said to look for fleas, pale gums, temperment, shot records, papers, parents and of course I did all that but this lady was good like She had did this before,You know? She brought Bailee outside to Us knowing now that I look back that He would not run and play because of the e-way being right there .I am positive She knew about He's leg now that I look back and I know She remembered that the little guy was sick,How could You just forget about that? But I should have takin a better look or had Him checked by My vet first. But again I trusted Her and Where in this world has all the trust in people went? Forget Us,I feel for poor little Bailee. How could She do that to Him ? As far as Akc,I am looking in to this as We speak !!! I live in Toledo,Ohio and thats where I got Bailee.A personal breeder Here. And there is nobody from Toledo on the boards I know of, so I can't do much as far as spreading the word about Her,But if There is anybody out there whom needs to know more about breeders in Toledo,Ohio I would be more then happy to voice My opinion.Bailee did not act sick either He just acted scarred of new people, thats the way I took it. Again Thank You so much for Your reply :luvu: Tami |
that is horrible! That illness is very treatable. I'm surprised that your vet didn't want to go ahead and have your other baby on it as a precaution. He'll be okay but you need to list the breeder's name...in a new thread...to warn others about her. You are very lucky that she even showed up at the vet's office. A lot of bad breeders would not have done that. Keep us updated on your little ones! |
poor baily & daisy i feel so bad for you! that lady was a irresopnsible doozy. when i used to breed or offer ch. stud service i always gave the prpspectives my vet's # as a reference. my prayers r with u, baily & daisy! i agree w ur vet. u were the angel to rescue him! :( Quote:
