Toothless Wonder! This past weekend I noticed a few things that made me realize that my baby boy is growing up so quickly. First I have been told by my bf and a friend that Deegan is starting to lift his leg. I haven't witnessed it, but apparently it's true. :( He's five months so I guess he's on track. Then as I was giving him his weekly bath, I noticed that he is missing both his front two teeth, and the bottom two teeth as well!! He's a toothless wonder and looks so funny! He hasn't been eating much the past couple of days, and this is probably why. On saturday I went out and got some Cesar soft food, because I was starting to worry about him not eating. I am leaving the hard food down for him, but I don't want him to get spoiled on the canned food and refuse to eat the hard food after. I want to keep his teeth as cleanas possible and since the canned food is bad for that I would rather stay away. How long do you think that he will be teething for and how long should I be feeding him the canned stuf for? Also, when do they loose their fangs? Or do they at all? Just curious. |
awww toothless wonder! thats so cute. i'm not sure how long they teeth for. in fact tucker just started. good luck! |
Puppies are suppose to start losing thier teeth at 4 months. That includes thier K9's. Keep an eye on this though because some dogs don't lose all of thier teeth and they need to be removed. 2 of my yorkies didn't lose thier baby K9's and 1 don't lose any of her teeth (she looked like a little shark). To not get them removed will cause problems like tarter build up early, and can be painful. |
Thats great that he is losing his teeth and they are coming out on ther own. Chachi had to have his canines pulled. |
Brutus' teeth came in right away after he lost them. But he still hasn't lost his canines so I have to call the vet and make an appt. for them to be pulled. :( |
Rika's teeth started falling out at like around 4 months. She did lose her fangs but I don't really remember when. It was one at a time and it looked funny. She didn't need to have any pulled in surgery but she had a couple taken out manually by her vet. They were just "caps" she called them and they came out real easy and without any fuss from Rika. |
