I worry about everything... I'm not sure what to do...I miss Tink so much and we decided to get another puppy. I got Tink when I was 19 and knew nothing about anything! Now I want to be sensible; hence trying to digest everything on YT - thank you. I worry that the breeder I have chosen is ethical and I worry about training and there is so much conflicting advice and the KC in the UK is under such scrutiny I wonder if I can actually trust them. So I called the breeder that Tink was from (16 years ago). She is still breeding and still breeding Yorkies, she doesn't ever advertise and she is no rush for me to go there. I'm taking all of this as good signs...she has 2 litters, about 5 weeks apart and we can go and see them next Friday. Maybe I will feel better when I see her (and them) and can ask some more detailed questions. People have puppies now, but I think a breeder that produced a dog that lived until 16 must make some decent choices... I know you guys will know stuff - help! :confused: |

I think we all worry when choosing our furbaby! I've been on a month long quest for a friend for Macy, and we have finally found him and pick him up next week. Like bildio said. Things will come together for you. It just happens when you meet the right person! :) |
It is hard and I worry also. I think for me it's not so much reputation but references and a lot of them. I just feel like breeders that do the genetic testing are where I will look, it's not so much about how many shows they win, but the health and I guess look of their babies. Good Luck |
Don't worry tinksmum! I just picked out my furbaby, Moose, and I have only had him for a couple days and I am just as much in love with him as I was Izzy! Izzy was my yorkshire terrier that I just lost not to long ago due to an awful raccoon! She thought she was bigger than it I guess! That was her personality (she had BIG DOG SYNDROME)! I was worried about training, getting a legit breeder, if I would miss Izzy a lot once I got it but it just makes me smile because I think of Izzy was just as playful and energetic as Izzy was! Take Care Sweetie! Keep us UPDATED! P.S. Owning a dog is ALL about learning! ;) |
