oneies for puppy Just bought some for Abbey to wear while she's healing from surgery...stupid question..do I snap or not? |
I did, I made a slit for the tail and snap them, just make sure to unsnap it to she can go pee.:) is just to make sure she does not lick the stiches. hugs, cArmen in nj |
Thank you for my laugh for the day. It would be a little awkward if you don't snap them as they would probably drag on the floor and your puppy would trip on it. Also the point is to keep them from chewing on their sticthes. I never used these but used a soft collar |
abbey you're welcome for the giggles! Abbey will not leave the snaps alone...maybe Ill have to go back to long tshirt? |
Can you put it on her 'upside down'? You know so that the snaps are on top of her bum instead of on her tummy side. |
abbey this is why I love this place! I will turn it around now!:animal-pa |

What a great idea!!! Smart thinking!!!:p |
Wait, onsies like the ones for babies? Their arms & legs fit in the holes??? OMG that's so cute. Do you have a picture? I'd love to dress my Charlie in onsies if they fit nicely. I always thought the holes may not fit ... |
:p LOL, yes you have to put it upside down... LOL or she will try to chew the snaps..LOL sorry I thought you just wanted to know if is ok to snap it...LOL hugs, carmen in nj |
Yep, put it on with the front of the onesie on doggies back, then snap the two outside snaps leaving the one in the middle open for the tail. I just today took my Sophie to the vets wearing hers to protect her spay incision and the vet thought what a good idea and they may try using them there. I got this idea from this Forum. |

I use onesies on Lulu while she is in heat and on the furniture/us. They work great and she looks so cute in them!:D |
I am reading this and it is such a good idea. I am taking my Roxy in on Wednesday next week to be spayed she is 5 lbs she could be close to 6 its be a month since I've weighed her and she is 6 months old and was wondering what size you bought and also the size of your baby? |
Puddin wears onesies when she sleeps on my bed as she is not fully house trained. Get some extra absorbent panty liners with adhesive backs. Stick one in the BACK part of the onesie, with one end of the liner near the snaps. Put the onesie on backwards...with the front of the onesie on the dog's back. Snap the two outside snaps, leaving the middle one undone for a tail hole. This prevents accidents and keeps the dog from scratching or chewing anything on its body. |

Thank you |
I have not had my little one spayed yet but thinking what a great idea! This would work for pajamas too. The dog clothes are so expensive, that would be a cheaper alternative. Thanks for the tip. |
A much better idea then those silly collars that make them look like a satelite dish!! |
Cookie was just spayed yesterday and i REFUSED to put the collar on her, i knew she would hate it. I bought the onesies and didnt think about putting it on backwards, i just cut the butt out, oops i ruined the onesie! I have one left and i wont cut that out! LOL |
I forgot to include that she is 4.7 lbs and i got her a newborn and it fits perfectly! |
1 Attachment(s) Nikko was 5lbs at the time of his neuter, and we used newborn onesies. The front of the onesie was on his back, we snapped everything shut, and his tail fit perfectly through a little hole we cut through the "front crotch" part of the onesie. Wal-mart had a really cute pack of five for I think $11 - they all either had puppy dogs on them or were striped. One of the puppy dog ones said "Daddy's Champ" with a pup on the back - my DH loved that one, lol. Attachment 270269 Lauren & Nikko |

They are too cute in their lil onesies! I found Lulu one that says "My heart belongs to daddy"....even though hubby claims she is my dog only, he loved it. Lulu is right under 4# now and wears a preemie size. |
1 Attachment(s) aww madison just got spayed on monday and i got her a cute yellow easter onesie... walmart had single ones for 3 dollars! and luckily there were a few preemie sizes left so i got that and it fits PERFECT she's 21 weeks and 4lbs 5oz. i just had to take a picture when i got home cus i thought it was so cute when i put it on her :p |
Onesies! You people are just amazing! I'd have never thought of that. Had read about them wearing a little T-shirt, but couldn't figure out how that would really stop dogs from scoothing it up to lick their belly. A onesie would be perfect. Do you think it would be to warm to wear in June, which is when Roxy is scheduled for spaying? Thanks soooo much for this problem solver! |
Tila got spayed on Friday and thats what I put on her too, to stop her licking if she wanted to lick. I put it with the snaps down, I cut a hole for her tail. I never thought to put it with the snaps up until a day later. lol. She slipped right out of them, right through the neck hole. But it's a good thing I had bought some premie ones at walmart a couple weeks before she got spayed. Those ones fit perfect. I read it on here to put a onesie when they get fixed, I thought it was a great idea. |
